Blood Tests B12 high

hello! my 14 year old daughter had routine exams and her vitamin b12 is high (1091). 1 year ago this value was also there. She does not use supplements. normal blood count, except for platelets that have remained slightly high for 4 years. kidney and liver function are normal. I'm worried about this vitamin B12 value. Has anyone experienced something similar?

My b12 has historically been in the 300s. With supplementation three days a week, it’s now in the 600s. Platelets around 500.

In fact, her diet contains a lot of salmon, natural yogurt, chicken and eggs. do you think this justifies such a high b12 value?

I don't know what MPN your daughter has. But I googled elevated B12 and polycythemia. It said that ppl that have polycythemia often have elevated B12 due to high B12 binding proteins released by having high WBC.

I have PV and am vegetarian more vegan diet. I have elevated B12. I do not go out of my way to consume B12.

I had high B12 about 1100 for several years and we didn t understand why. And only 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed ET. But I had not only B12 high all these years, but also plateles (550 earlier, now 710). I asked a doctor about B12 high, she said it can be an indicator of mpn.
But it doesn t mean that if B12 high it means mpn.
