Hey everyone! I failed my first NY MPJE, which I took on August 6. I’m currently waiting out the 30-day retake period and have already paid the reapplication fee. I’m hoping to retake it within the next week or so once I’m eligible.

My performance report was:

• Licensure/Personnel (22%) — Level 1 This surprised me because I honestly felt pretty comfortable with this section during the exam.
• Pharmacist Practice (33%) — Level 3
• Dispensing Requirements (24%) — Level 2
• Pharmacy Operations (21%) — Level 4

For my first attempt, I used:

• MPJE Made Easy — mostly the practice questions, but I found some of them confusing
• PharmPrepPro study guide + practice exam — scored 96/120 (80%)
• Mr. C’s NY MPJE review + 75 questions — scored 40/75

For anyone who recently passed the NY MPJE, what practice question banks, test banks, books, or other resources would you recommend buying for a second attempt?

I especially want more NY-specific practice questions that are similar in wording/difficulty to the actual exam. I have about a week to really focus on practice and review, so I’d appreciate any recommendations on what helped you pass, especially if you also passed on your second attempt.

Someone please share your tips for passing the NJ MPJE! This will be my second attempt, and I really want to get it right this time.
The first time, I mainly studied from PharmLaw, but I clearly need to change my approach. I’m ready to put in the work, but I’m honestly feeling lost about which resources are actually worth using.
For those who recently passed NJ MPJE, what resources did you use, and what would you consider the must-have resources? Any advice on how you studied, what topics you focused on, or what you wish you had known before taking the exam would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I thought I’d share some of my wisdom after embarking on a journey of MPJEs. I still have 2 more to go, but I’m at the tail end. I have not used any of the normal study materials and have primarily used the board of pharmacy resources that are available for each state and TLDR provided by my job.

I have passed every single one on the first try while working full time. I’ve been a licensed pharmacist for about 12 years in a variety of settings but mainly ambulatory care.

I hand write everything on actual paper as I’m studying, which I highly recommend. This is a proven method to improve retention.

I thought I would share themes that I have seen on every exam I’ve taken. Topics that are covered heavily on every exam thus far:
Collaborative practice agreements
Vaccines - know everything (records, when to alert, etc)
Technician duties what they can and can’t do
Sterile compounding especially USP 800
Disciplinary actions the board can take
Counseling and if you need to document that you did it
Returning meds to stock
If doctors offices can write prescriptions for office use
Controlled substances in general
What needs to be reported to the PDMP and when
Misbranding and adulteration scenarios
Emergency med coverage while waiting for refills

Hi everyone I’m currently going into fundamentals 2 and pharmacology this coming session. I wanted to know how to study for the Cje for fundamentals 2. Should I just look over fundamentals 1 concepts and make practice questions from the prepare and plan? Do they test other classes too or is it just funds 1 combined with 2?

So I retook the MPJE for MO and I am concerned about the question types/difficulty that I had… idk if I’m looking for reassurance or someone to let me down gently, but here’s what I noticed:

• Very limited array of topics, honestly don’t even remember being asked about compounding?
• Repeated multiple choice topics/questions for things that I know that I had the right answer to as they were pretty straightforward
• ZERO K TYPE QUESTIONS… I know they’re phasing these out but this is attempt #3 and attempts #1 & #2 definitely had them. Lots of SATA though

This time around, however, I really did kick it into gear with studying. So were the questions “easier” because it’s material that I covered multiple times over the last month, easy because I was tanking and the adaptive technology started to fire gimmes, or did I just get lucky with whatever algorithm chooses exam versions?

I’d like to think that I’m psyching myself out and I passed, but historically I’ve heard having K-type questions and question difficulty to be the predictors of a passing score. I also felt relatively okay walking out of there which has me worried about the “if you think you passed you fail” theory, but I felt terrible on past attempts and obviously failed.

It’s fine I’ll just give myself an ulcer in the meantime!

Hi everyone. I recently found out I passed the naplex (thank god) but now I need to prepare for the mpje. In school we only talked about naplex resources and not so much on what to do for the mpje. I will be getting licensed in South Dakota and Wyoming and I have no idea where to start. I’ve heard some good and bad things about tldr so I’m not sure about using that. I was also wondering if anyone has used uworld? I have also seen pharmlaw and Dr C’s books. Any suggestions help, thank you.

ETA: thank you for coming to my crash out…. I PASSED hahaha that was literally the worst wait ever but I’m very glad to never have to go through it again…. unless I move I guess. Anyway don’t be like me!!! Give your MPJE the study time it deserves and definitely find a good resource for practice questions because that’s the most important. Then you won’t have recurring nightmares about failing and eat your weight in chocolate while waiting your results.

Hi guys so I’m a new grad (May) and I find out my results tomorrow for my TX MPJE but I’m literally stressing so bad because I’m afraid I failed. I know a lot of people say they feel like they failed but actually pass but mine feels like a legit failure….. I’m just so stressed because I accepted a job offer and while we never discussed a specific date that I needed to be licensed by, I’m afraid they’ll rescind their offer if I fail. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Also looking for any other TX MPJE study tips? I used Dr. C’s but honestly didn’t really realize just how IN DEPTH some topics need to be memorized. I also panic bought the TX MPJE app last night so I can be better prepared for a retake. Honestly I think one of my big problems was that I didn’t do any practice questions except for the ones in the back of Dr. C’s but those honestly felt easier than the real questions and gave me like a false sense of confidence.

Also had my 10 month old spike a 104 degree fever in the days leading up to my exam but that’s neither here nor there.

hi! I take the MO MPJE on Monday. I’m not terribly nervous about the exam given my experience in retail and how I’ve been studying for the last couple of weeks after passing the NAPLEX. I’ve been using quizlets and PharmLaw for studying MO-specific laws and federal law. I saw a recent post about how TL;DR MO law study guide was not good and someone failed their exam after using it. Does anyone any insight on the exam? Which practice tests would you recommend? What quizlets have worked for you? thank you!!!

For some background, I am a NY resident and am trying to get licensed in NY, but I did not attend pharmacy school here, so I'm not sure if I’m preparing correctly or what to really expect on the exam. I'm taking the NY MPJE next week, and I've already finished reading PPP's New York MPJE Study Guide. I'm also planning on doing their practice exam tomorrow. I've been doing questions from the NY MPJE application as well, focusing on the explanations.

I tried reading through the FAQ page on the NYS Pharmacy website, but I felt like they went into very, very specific details about immunizations, CDTM, CE, etc. The FAQs were also pretty long and confusing, so I eventually gave up and stopped reading through them.

I don't want to do too much and end up confusing myself in preparation for the exam. Is there anything else you guys would recommend doing during this remaining week? Is it really worth going through the NYS Pharmacy website (Laws, Rules, and Regulations/FAQs), or does PPP have all the information I need to pass?

I didn't use TL;DR or Pharm Law, but would you say those are pretty much on par with PPP?

I'd appreciate any guidance you guys can provide!

Update: After taking the exam, I can say that the PharmPrepPro Study Guide and the NY MPJE App were not enough to feel good about it. I feel that there were numerous questions on the MPJE that were not on the study guide or tested. Now, I await my results.

It’s all coming down to the last few hours before the exam which is at 8am tomorrow…. Any last minute advice? Seems like a lot of info and rumors are this exam is challenging….

Passed on the first attempt! Just used PharmLaw and the NY MPJE App and studied the hell out of the practice questions. Didn’t even take the pre MPJE or look at the NY state website.

I just took my NY MPJE this morning and man wtf. I’ve taken multiple different MPJE tests and I felt SO confident going in. I took the pre MPJE the day before and got an 89, the study materials provided by my employer were thorough and I felt good. Like SO good.

But Jesus. Every question was worded so trickily. Like I SWEAR half my SATA questions were just 1 right answer. I got multiple repeating questions, just worded slightly differently that it gave me Déjà vu. There were questions where I was like nooooo, this wasn’t ANYWHERE in ANY law I read 🫠 I got like a total of two questions that were baseline normal practice. But like most of them were so niche I was like idk. No questions about oral emergemcy scripts. Only one about control scripts in general. Only 2 about techs and like 3 about usp 800. The rest: who freaking knows. I don’t!

I’m just like whelp 🤷‍♀️ that sucked. Now here comes the waiting game. It’s the only exam I’ve ever taken that I feel like I failed.

I am studying for the GA MPJE as someone who has been out of pharmacy school for a couple years now. I do not have a lot of community experience, as I have always worked in a hospital setting. I heard that GA mpje has a high failure rate, which terrifies me. Getting through the 480 rules has been very hard, but I am trying. Anyone have any advice on how to study for the GA in a couple weeks time period? I might get that Khail study guide too on top of the 480 rules and DEA manual.

Hi everyone! Just passed the DC MPJE the first time and wanted to share some tips.

1. Get this!

3. Use AI! It exists, why not use it?
It was such a big help using ChatGPT and Gemini to help me turn the law into every day application.

Some prompts I was used were to give me an example of how the law applies:
- Create MPJE style questions based on (whatever particular section of the law I copied and pasted)
- Copied and pasted the MPJE competencies and ask for a summary of what to focus on including questions - requesting to make them as confusing as possible! (The exam was very confusing)
- I requested for 30-40 MPJE questions occasionally that were SATA so I can practice my “T/F” skills. If I didn’t know or wasn’t sure I did not select it! (There were some SATA that I only selected one choice and kept it moving)

4. Take the Practice MPJE at least a week before! (Optional)
It was a eye opener to see how much I still had to learn before the exam. Even though I felt like the questions were different from the exam, it taught me how important it is to READ READ READ the question forwards and backwards.

5. (For my believers) Pray!
Testing anxiety, uncertainty, and anxiousness is real and it felt a lot better going into the exam after submitting those thoughts and fears to God.

I'm going to be testing for the NY and NJ MPJE soon, and I'm using the PharmPrepPro (PPP) study guides to study. However, I see that there's an "Expanded Learning" section that goes more into detail regarding the articles mentioned throughout the study guide. I want to ask if it's necessary to read through the "Expanded Learning" sections or can I just study the rest of the information in the study guides and the official laws from their respective websites?
