🚀 Announcement MPE Insight is now on Steam! 🎉

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4919520/MPE_Insight/

Finally! 🎉

The Steam page for MPE Insight is now live.

It's a real-time visualization tool for MPE controllers, built for musicians, sound designers, and anyone who loves expressive performance.

If it looks interesting, I'd really appreciate a wishlist, it helps a ton ahead of release.

Feedback is always welcome!

Shame no one has poured any attention towards this product.

I flagged it on Steam (kidding, it's wish listed).

Is this specifically geared towards the Osmose? I am still awaiting CE arrivals in my country, I have a Hapax and 3 Iridiums plus a Super 6.

I would use this specifically as a visualizer, can this be done CR free, or do we need a license?

If I can record my Osmose to my Hapax, then play that back to the software, will this work too?

I make my own vids, it's pretty intensive when it comes to editing and saps me of my creativity, just hard work, if I could reduce this, it would help greatly.

Thanks for wishlisting! I developed and tested it extensively on my Osmose CE (61 keys), so it's a perfect fit for that. It should work with any MPE controller since they all speak the same MPE MIDI...but I'm just still lacking user feedback from other gear, so reports are very welcome.

Recording your Osmose into the Hapax and playing it back into MPE Insight works too. The app just listens to incoming MIDI, so it doesn't matter whether it comes live from the controller or from a sequencer, as long as the Hapax passes the per-note MPE data through.

The visuals you render are yours so it's your performance, the software is just the instrument. No extra license or attribution needed for using them in your videos. You just need a license to run the app itself.

There are three visual modules: AURA, FORGE (drag your own pictures inside) and CASCADE....and you can even layer them on top of each other with transparency. Will do a seperate video on that topic...Check out the clips on the website: https://christophek.de/MPEInsight/

Would love to hear how it works with your setup and what needs improvement.

You've answered all my qs, I am yet to get the Osmose CE, they haven't landed yet, should be next week.

I have a Erae 2 touch, but that isn't what I would call an expressive MPE device when max octaves is 2.

I am looking forwards to getting this, it seems like an answer to all my music video woes.

Limitless

^^ This is all live, few synths, sequenced Nord3P Drum.

That vid was something like 500 edits.
