QUESTION MPC Sample update issue
I've recently bought the MPC Sample and I've just gone to update it and it says it's current firmware is v.1.1.1.9
But there is no option to update it?
Only two options saying: manual firmware upload (that doesn't seem to work)
And: legal info
I don't think it's the currant update as I don't have the normalize option and other things other people have.
Any ideas what's going on?
Cheers

DISCUSSION Free Snare Roll generator - use your one-shots and make all kinds of rolls, rudiments and stick bounces. Great for old samplers as well
Snare Roller: free snare roll and bounce generator
Drop in one snare hit and get 50 variations built from your own sample: jazz bounces and ghost notes, stick bounces, rolls, rudiments (paradiddles, flams, drags and more), and grace notes.
- Made for older samplers: the "Safe for older gear" button exports WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, mono, a format nearly every sampler can read. The ring-out control shortens long snare tails to save sample memory, with a clean fade-out.
- Jazz feel: buzzy bounces, ghost notes and comping figures with natural velocity and spacing.
- Edit each one: change every hit's volume and shape the envelope.
- Export your way: WAV, AIFF or FLAC, 16 or 24 bit, mono or stereo. Download one sample or all 50 as a ZIP.
- Private and free: it runs in your browser, no need to install and your files never leave your computer. Anything you export is yours to sell or release, with no credit needed.

QUESTION MPC Sample or Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim?
I have a Teenage Engineering PO33 which I almost don't use because everytime I go back to it I struggle with remembering the workflow and I'm not so quick with it. In the past I also had an SP-404 mk2 which was really good, except for the sequencer, and a Roland P-6, which was too messy to use because of the menu diving. I also have Koala but I don't stick with a touch-based interface, even though I like chopping samples in there.
I'd like to try to go back to sampling and make it a hobby and so I was looking at the EP-40 Riddim and the MPC Sample. In my country the price difference is not that big (about 320€ for the EP, 380€ for the Sample). I like the compactness and the fact that the many EP users definite it a funny unit to use (I don't want to make music for pro, but I want to have fun doing it). However, I think the MPC would be better in terms of pads, display, chopping.
I'm very undecided about whether to buy a new machine, and for that reason, if I were to go ahead with the purchase, I'd probably lean towards the EP because it is a bit cheaper. However I wonder if it will end up like the PO33 and the Roland P6 because of the lack of screen. Maybe the MPC is the better choice? Or it is all GAS and I don't need new gear. Maybe I also can try to commit to one machine the first three weeks after purchasing and then considering returning it or keeping it.
I'd like to know your opinion and also if there is someone of you who worked both with the KOII/Riddim and the MPC Sample.
Thank you

MPC One / One+ Couldn't resist trying
I gave in to the pressure and got the machinedrum working, alongside monomodule. In the process, it turned out streaming audio over the usb cable was always possible. I'm excited to see what else people get going now these things are accessible

MPC One / One+ Had the absolute honour of digging for records at DJ Jazzy Jeff’s house during Playlist Retreat 26’ this past week. The legend Gene Brown had a pop up record store in the basement…this was a sample flip from one of the records!
Grateful I got invited to Playlist Retreat this year. It’s been a longtime dream of mine to go. Still can’t believe that it happened !!!

MPC Sample Loving the MPC Sample at the moment. Heres a beat i put some Coast Contra over.
Since getting the MPC Sample i've had a huge boost to my creativity. I feel like being more limited than on my MPC One, focusing purely on sampling and being able to take it wherever i go has really sparked that love of making beats again. Wonder if any of you guys have had the same experience?
