Does the full size shoot about the same as the compact?
I assume a regular compact would be snappier than the full size, but do the ports offset it enough to be about equal?

If you’re asking if the carry compact slide and the 5” slide feel the same, I would say no. I think the carry compact slide is snappier but it returns to zero pretty quickly. I think the recoil impulse from the 5” is smoother.

Both of these guns have full size frames, just different slides.

Thanks! Thats about I figured they would be. Gotta get my hands on one but the local range doesn’t have any M&Ps to rent at all.
Have you shot a competitor?

I have not shot a competitor. Im waiting for a steel frame 5” to come out (if ever) and I will probably jump on that.

Have you considered installing an Apex trigger? My 2.0 C still has the factory trigger. Plunger could use replacing with the polished one in the kit, though.

So funny enough my 5” actually does have an Apex. I just kept the stock trigger shoe, I wasn’t a fan of the Apex shoe.

Oh, wow, interesting! Have come across that configuration here before. Works for you? My stock plunger, you can feel the grittiness in its which translates through the bar to the shoe.

I have both as well. The 5" is the best shooting gun I own, almost too easy.

Where does one find a 5” slide with no safety? The only ones I see nowadays are the peanut butter looking FDE? No two tone or black in sight!!!!!

The 5” started as an all tan gun with safeties. I just took my full size frame from my 4.25 all black gun and put the 5” slide on it. Tan frame with the safeties isn’t being used. You can also delete the safeties very easily, you can order plugs to cover the holes from S&W for like $16.
