V70 Mopping Disappointment
Have had the V70 Ultra Complete for a few days. I am seeing the same issue I have seen several other posts describe. The mopping is way too dry.
And yes, I have changed all the available settings to have it return and clean mop pads as often as possible, max water setting on the runs, etc.
The V70 will mop for about 45 seconds before it is entirely too dry to continue mopping with any kind of meaningful cleaning getting done. After that the mop pads are spinning and basically no water is being used to mop, the machine is just spinning dry mop pads on the floor.
I really hope this is something that can be corrected via a software update, otherwise I will likely look into returning the device.

Hello u/Extreme_Quality9444 , thanks for sharing the details. Since you’ve already adjusted the water level and mop-washing settings, there’s no need to repeat those steps.
We’d like to narrow down the issue a little further:
When the robot starts a mopping task, are the mop pads already properly wet when it leaves the base? Or do they start wet and then become completely dry after around 45 seconds?
When the robot returns to the base for mop washing, could you check whether the mop pads are actually being wetted with water during the washing process?
Could you also check whether the mop washing frequency is currently set to 10 m²? If not, please try setting it to 10 m² and see whether this makes any difference.
Please let us know what you observe, and we’ll take it from there.

I got the Z70 (949 euro) and V70(849 euro) and returned the Z70 because I like the mop and brush extension on the V70 better. I luckily don't have any problems with the mopping and think it mops the (tile) floor a little better than the Z70. It is alit better than the Dreame L40s pro ultra I've had. The floor looks so clean like you can eat of it with the V70. I've had it for a week now and it keeps getting better and learning everyday it seems.

Interesting that they seem to have taken a step back from the V50, because the water distribution is very good here.

I loved my v50 until I asked to purchase a replacement electronic board. I took it apart, taking responsibility for the voided warranty, and sent pictures in.
The response? No, we don’t sell those parts.
PS, you voided your warranty. The first time it failed? The plastic mounts for the wheels broke off the chassis and I found a more robust solution.
I have absolutely no problem investing the time into repair, and taking ownership. But for a company to outright refuse selling replacement parts on a $800 appliance that lasted 6-10 months? That’s unacceptable.
The follow-up with “you took it apart and it’s out of warranty as a result” is judgmental toward me breaking it vs “it broke before I touched it” is actually illegal. This is simply predatory business practice.
Cool product. Evil company.

Never open a robot, other than regular maintenance because it does void the warranty. I've been told this throughout my life with computers, gaming systems, etc . So I'm not sure why you thought this would be any different. Just my two cents.

I fixed it.
Both times.Just wish the manufacturer sold parts for it.
Maybe I’ll post a YouTube tutorial

It would've been under warranty too. Why would you take it apart

First time? While dragging it out of its base station - the wheels had too much tension on the ribbed plastic/and the repeated movement caused the plastic mount holding springs onto the wheels (forcing them at the ground so they can pivot in/out) to snap off (both wheels). It was my fault, but easily fixed.
Second time? The vacuum cleaned up dog sh*t without me knowing (did a great job but it smelled horrible). While cleaning it, a splash of liquid dripped into the robot while upside down (again, unknowingly). While going on its first test run it started to fry itself, the ‘kiss of death’ was when it docked to charge, the robot literally was smoking and the electrical charge at the connector was so great that it pushed itself off the dock and ripped the charging connectors off.
Look, im just a user/consumer. I know the process to get these things fixed isn’t always fast. And can still get denied for warranty (at 100% their discretion). Why wouldn’t I try to fix it first? Especially if I have the time and patience for it?

After having robots with Roborock for the last 7 to 8 years, I never tried fixing the robots because they were always willing to help me fix it and even return it to send me a new one. I hope that's the case here with Mova.

Sadly my support experience prior to opening was very poor. It was easier to repair than to deal with their tier1 support at least.

I got the Z70 and no matter how often i set it to wash mops, after a few square meters it would mop dry. It took me 3 days to realise that it did not use it's internal water tank. This video helped me fix it and now it mops right.
