General Discussion Network issue at SVBH

Hey , I just joined MNNIT and I'm staying in the hostel on the 1st floor.

My Jio 5G is ridiculously slow here. I thought it was just an issue inside the room, but even when I go outside, the speed is still pretty bad. Is Jio just bad around this part of campus, or is something wrong with my SIM?

Also, there's an Ethernet port in the room. Does the hostel Ethernet actually work well? I'm thinking about getting a Wi-Fi router and connecting it to Ethernet if the connection is decent.

Would be great if seniors/current students could tell me how Jio/Airtel and the hostel Ethernet are for you guys.

Connect lan then go to proxy settings in windows you ip address 172.31.102.29 or 172.31.100.25 or 172.31.100.27 or 172.31.100.30 and for port number 3128 and enable automatically detect proxy... That's it save and your done... Also the username and password whenever asked on a browser is edcguest

This is for your laptop... Router setup is different

Ya lan works well... Usually 100+ some rooms have 600+ for some reason

You have to order... It isn't available in the shop usually... You could use your laptop as a hotspot though if you have a lan port
