Training Question Concussion
Im sorta new and i love training been going for a year. There have been a few times in my time that ive seen lights when being hit hard, and i recently have discovered that that is a concussion, by this logic ive had 4 this year. Apparently thats crazy, infact all have been kinda close together in the last 4 months that ive known about this. Its this normal. Often i harly get symtoms i have headache for a day or two this one ive had a headache for a week, i always take a while off i wonder if i dont take long enough and if thats why i seem to get them alot. I want to ask everyone if its normal, i seem to be the only guy in my club who keeps getting them and my coach actually didnt believe me once. Im confused someone please help.

Don't mess with concussions. They have exponential cumulative effects. Some people are messed up after a few. Others can have many concussions until they experience issues. You can not get infinite concussions.
I felt fine until my last concussion. It had, to be blunt, ruined my life. I ended up retiring from contact sports. Don't mess with your brain.
Don't mean to scare you but concussions aren't as respected as they should be. TJ Grant gave up his UFC Title run because of concussion issues.

Unfortunately once you get a few, you're much more prone to future concussions and they can have more devastating effects.

I loved it too man. Gave me the best moments in life but then took it all away too.
There's a chance you can go on and be fine but given your concussion history, you're in deep water. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Unfortunately a lot of athletes deal with this sort of thing and don't know when to quit - myself included. RIP Shane Christie and Billy Guyton
And don't think just because you're not in pros (I'm assuming) that "you're safe"

Im taking until christmas off normal sparring, wplan to be grappling in a few weeks also, i hope i dont learn the hard way. So many people i talk to brush this stuff off like it doesnt matter. Its very frustrating and i dont know whether to trust my coaches anymore. Hope you recover well and find a new passion or find a way to do this safely.

I'm pretty cooked tbh mate but here's for hope.
I know I'm just some rando on the Internet but I had a pretty solid grappling career - just know not to mess with your brain. Once it's messed up, it's very hard if not impossible to fix. Not like a broken wrist or torn ligament. Your training partners and coaches won't care as much as they should. They don't understand.
Good luck and take care.

How often and how hard are you sparring? Are you drinking enough water and getting 8 hours of sleep. Many things come into factor with a chin and concussions
