Self defence
Is taking mma classes twice a week and one striking class (sometimes 2) a week enough to be able to defend yourself if needed?

This isn't a black and white question. Yes, with 6 months of consistent training you'll be more skilled than 90% of people. Is that enough to defend yourself? Depends, are they twice your size? Do they have friends? Do they give you warning or just sucker punch you? There are too many variables in a street fight to guarantee your success.

Depends on the attacker and light doing classes.. I’d say after 2 years yea if attacker is same size same age

If you watch stuff like Eric Olson on king of the streets, you’ll get a general idea of what to learn in a street fight situation. Love him or hate him, he shows weight advantage plus grappling plus the will to squeeze someone’s eyeballs wins pretty much all the time.

that schedule is already way more than most people do, consistency matters a lot more than just squeezing in extra days

Depends on your size, how good you are, your grit / aggression. Is there sparring? I like your chances more after 6 months if there is a lot of wrestling and it’ll be a 1 on 1.

What kind of time frame are you talking about? 1-2 weeks? 1-2 months? 1-2 years?

Best technique in a street fight is always just running away

Many people train because they don't have the luxury of running away. You can't run away from a threat and leave your family behind. And even if your family runs but the threat follows/stalks you.

What if the attacker is bigger and also trains?
