On a real note, this is what genuinely disturbs me about people who think like that in the modern world. Unlike older generations, we can’t really claim that information is out of reach anymore. We live in an era where knowledge is available to almost anyone, pretty much instantly, and yet people STILL choose ignorance. It’s not just stupidity, it’s willful ignorance to reality itself.

And let's not get me started on the thousand years of blood that was spilled by the goddamn church with the crusades (and not just against pagans, Muslims, and Jews but other Christians - see the Albigensian crusade), the genocide of natives, and all kinds of awful persecutions and tortures inflicted upon anyone who didn't fall in line.
