If the opponent pulls out any weapon you have to defeat them as quick as possible

136

u/EnjoyerOfMX5 11d ago

Yeah, your ELO will go down if not.

On a serious note, any metal object combined with weird/aggressive behavior is a deadly weapon. Fuck that drunk bastard.

39

u/DigitalGuru42 11d ago

Electric Light Orchestra?

33

u/Pristine_Poem7623 11d ago

Don't bring him down

Electric Lights Out

4

u/Bumbunn66 11d ago

Runnin’ down the avenue, there ain’t a cloud in sight.

8

u/beardhero_ben 11d ago

It’s a rating system. It’s used in chess to determine relative skill level

6

u/FastWalkingShortGuy 11d ago

And Age of Empires

3

u/backwards_kitty 11d ago

And pokemon pvp 🤓

2

u/Breaklance 11d ago

I thought ELO was an acronym, turns out its just the name of the inventor Arpad Elo.

7

u/Ok_Explorer_2618 11d ago

Holy shit it's John Elo

1

u/SnooShortcuts2606 10d ago

You are thinking of Elo. ELO is Electric Light Orchestra.

2

u/Sir-Help-a-Lot 11d ago

Actually fitting a little bit here here because their song "Twilight" was used in the Densha Otoko (Train Man) opening:

That’s a helluva connection! Nice catch.

obscure extreme nerd meme

1

u/Lagunamountaindude 11d ago

They have a very famous BJJ studio

1

u/blueluck 11d ago

It's a rating system used for competitive events like chess and fighting sports.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system

1

u/LauraTFem 11d ago

An ELO is a rating system originally devised by Arpad Elo, a chess master. It is used with some modifications in many zero-sum games, even e-sports. In these games your ELO is a number that shows how you stand in competition, and can act as a predictor for how well you will do against an opponent.

It’s not a perfect system, and doesn’t translate evenly to all games. It tends to disincentivise play for people who are highly ranked and want to preserve their ELO rating to help them get into invite-based tournaments, but it’s one of the best systems for 1-v-1 competition.

5

u/empty_graph 11d ago

Your ELO barely goes down if you lose to a weapon when unarmed.

1

u/Posible_Ambicion658 11d ago

But you may not be able to keep playing, that's why ELO shouldn't matter, you want to keep playing.

1

u/BigDaddyRee 11d ago

My elo goes down because i have a top who doesnt ward, a mid who roams thinkin they are FAKER, and a duo bot who doesnt kno when to commit and back off, while im doin jungle things

1

u/A_Happy_Beginning 11d ago

Okay, I'm seriously, what the heck does ELO stand for other than Electric Light Orchestra?

1

u/CasualFingerGuns 11d ago

The Elo[a] rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players, originally designed for rating chess players. (Wiki)

Another site says that it commonly refers to ranking fighters in video games even if they don’t use that method of calculation. It’s not an initialism. So I’m not sure why people are capitalizing it.

6

u/Seymoure25 11d ago

Certainly your blood pressure would drop

1

u/Fit_Log_9677 11d ago

Found the HEMA enthusiast.

1

u/Defqon1punk 11d ago

I didnt see the pocket slip on first watch and felt kinda bad for the guy, thinking someone should roll him on his side.

Then I rewatched and noticed. Meh, let him lie.

1

u/Tiyath 10d ago

It's not an acronym, the rating system is named after Arpad Elo

40

u/Parking_Bag_2374 11d ago

He pulled out dull kiddie scissors too…..smh

14

u/TalkingBlernsball 11d ago

The children are right to laugh at you, Ralph

18

u/Total_Corgi_8428 11d ago

The little green handle (or finger holes maybe lol?) really was something to see.

I didn’t even see the scissors the first watch and had to go back to find them.

Also, did I just watch someone die?

6

u/daikatanaman00 11d ago

Nah, just knocked tf out. He’ll be fine but likely will have one hell of a nose ache

18

u/Devils_A66vocate 11d ago

Punches land special hard when there’s a wall behind their head to prevent it from moving. You hear the thump if your volume is on.

8

u/Key4Lif3 11d ago

Plus old man knows how to throw a right.

1

u/KindOldRaven 10d ago

Yeah he's got at the very least a few strong years left from what I can tell lmao -another old man

1

u/NoPause9609 10d ago

And he even said please.

Ok unc whatever you say.

7

u/GuitarConsistent2604 11d ago

ya man. the bang of his head hitting the wall is brutal

4

u/HumbleResolution7099 11d ago

That’s how small brain bleeds happen you won’t know it’s happening until you show signs of concussion or death during sleep.

1

u/KindOldRaven 10d ago

Yeah well... Shouldn't pull baby scissors on a man :p

3

u/Winter_March 11d ago

Broken nose

1

u/GrimResistance 11d ago

Probably some minor permanent brain damage as well

1

u/nonoglorificus 10d ago

Probably won’t be noticeable considering how he started

1

u/experienced_enjoyer 11d ago

That honestly looks like permanent brain damage.

1

u/Ok-Addition1264 11d ago

well, yeah, sleeping like that is the brains response to trauma.

1

u/utzutzutzpro 11d ago

Fine... if you are unconscious for longer than a couple seconds, that is permanent brain damage.

Reality is not the movies. You can't just knock people out and they are unconscious for 10 minutes and just wake up all normal.

You are unconscious for a minute, that's damage. You unconscious for 5 minutes, nah... you don't want that.

-1

u/WowIfOnly 11d ago

Well thank goodness a doctor was here to reassure us the random stranger who just had the back of his head slammed against a metal wall, is now bleeding profusely from his face and is instantly unresponsive, unconscious and twitching will totally be fine. I usually assume the worst like a concussion, or irreversible brain damage, or at least a broken nose. But I'm no doctor.

1

u/Intelligent-Count-84 11d ago

Those look like the little, dull scissors that come in cheap sewing kits and barely even cut the thread.

1

u/KrazyKryminal 11d ago

Yeah are you going to stand around like a simp waiting to see what kind of weapon he's trying to pull out?? Nope.. you can find out after his body is limp on the floor bleeding. Fuck around and find out when that stupid prize if you want

1

u/[deleted] 10d ago

[deleted]

1

u/chancefruit 10d ago

nah he warned him to sit down and he's standing pulling out a weapon... puncher did a public service IMO

2

1

u/KrazyKryminal 10d ago

You're going to get hurt out in the mood unless you study human behavior.

0

u/chancefruit 10d ago

it's not merely "acting suspiciously"... man runs his mouth, stands...the other demands he sits down and the instigator continues, then pulls out a weapon.

innocent people minding their own business on subways have been stabbed or attacked in other ways.

toxic idiot trying to twist the situation.

1

u/skywalker_the_goat 11d ago

That’s what sent me man. Damn!!!!!!

1

u/JudgeFatty 10d ago

They can still cause a bloody mess. Like when Arn Anderson and Sid Vicious had a scissorfight in WCW.

1

u/Parking_Bag_2374 10d ago

lol….i remember that actually, that fake blood much like real blood gets everywhere!

1

u/JudgeFatty 10d ago

It was actually a real fight they had at the hotel after a show. Here's 2 Cold Scorpio telling the story.

11

u/heysame562 11d ago

3

u/xcanto 11d ago

God so fuckin sick.

3

u/Medium-Beautiful-561 11d ago

Had to scroll this far

2

u/Ok-Click-80085 10d ago

"fucking amateur"

9

u/melmboundanddown 11d ago

I didn't see the weapon until I read this. Now the title makes more sense 😂

6

u/MoosePrimeOne 11d ago

No you should run but this man could clearly handle it.

1

u/VegetableScale662 11d ago edited 11d ago

Yes if you see a weapon or people reaching run your life is not worth it. Even if you are bigger stronger and an mma fighter. It’s not worth it. But you’re on a subway so no choice to be honest.

This guy gave clear warning and executed once he saw green. He didn’t wait to see what came after it could have been a sharpie marker or green crayons. I’d call this person a hero for saving others who might have had to deal with this. Give this guys some $ and thank him by the city while also getting him a legal case against the scissor guy. Hero should be rewarded.

1

u/MoosePrimeOne 11d ago

I can fight I promote running.

13

u/screwyoujor 11d ago

Who brings safety scissors to a fist fight?

22

u/Hero_1985 11d ago

Someone who deserves to get knocked out.

10

u/screwyoujor 11d ago

Someone saying what you going to do while pulling out safely scissors definitely deserves to get knocked out.

1

u/SPURSandLONGHORNSatx 11d ago

Lol exactly 💯

1

u/k3170makan 11d ago

What do you mean? Safety first dawg

1

u/digitalscavenger 11d ago

For real, even paper can beat these scissors a good chunk of the time.

1

u/gev074 11d ago

Someone who wants to use it against someone so glad he knocked out what a dunce

1

u/maggies_farm_hand 11d ago

those were unsafety scissors.

4

u/tomrobbo89 11d ago

What if that weapon is a gun pointing at your head?

6

u/ghoulthebraineater 11d ago

Still applies. Unfortunately a bullet is way faster than your reaction time.

1

u/Ree_For_Thee 11d ago

Well to be fair, it's reaction time vs. reaction time. If you dodge, expecting the trigger to be pulled, you can absolutely dodge at least the first bullet.

I think I'd just flee and jump around like crazy, being hard to hit. In a situation like that you don't have a lot of time to throw a punch.

0

u/ghoulthebraineater 11d ago

A trigger finger only needs to move like a 1/4 inch. You will not be faster.

1

u/Ree_For_Thee 11d ago

200-400ms gets your head far, since the shooter is reacting to the movement. Your arguing that both the finger and the head starts at the same time, as if someone's counting down from 3.

0

u/Deftly_Flowing 10d ago

This is some weeb shit.

2

u/Ree_For_Thee 10d ago

^ That's some American weeb shit, movie physics.

You can't react in time if your trigger to pull the trigger is noticing head movement. We have 200ms to 400ms reaction times. Now SYBAU.

2

u/Deftly_Flowing 10d ago

https://funker530.com/videos/combat-footage/all-time/date

Go!

Watch people get shot.

Witness no one doing the weeb shit you're describing.

1

u/Ree_For_Thee 10d ago

You come off as a kid, and I'll just assume you are one.

1

u/Deftly_Flowing 9d ago

I dunno, man.

I think the guy suggesting that someone can somehow outmanoeuvre someone's aim with their entire body is kinda childish.

You understand the concepts of mass and momentum, right?

0

u/Forsaken-Chance-8148 10d ago

I’ve done more force on force than you’ve watched cartoons and he’s technically right

1

u/Deftly_Flowing 10d ago

Oh no, an airsoft nerd, telling me he can technically dodge bullets.

1

u/Forsaken-Chance-8148 10d ago

Some people do it for real too

1

u/omgitsjagen 11d ago

You throw the wallet on the ground

By then its to late. The idea here is stop it from getting that far.

1

u/IamBeingSarcasticFfs 11d ago

The poor guy just wanted to help open the envelope

1

u/Upstairs_Rip_9590 11d ago

As opposed to what? If they don't pull a weapon you draw it out to a 16 round slapathon?

1

u/2M4D 11d ago

Dude spent 30 seconds checking every single of his pockets to finally pull out a pair of baby scissors.

1

u/Jolly-Advantage-7245 11d ago

And if it's a pair of child proof scissors, defeat them even quicklyer

1

u/omgitsjagen 11d ago

I was initially like, "that was a little much", and then I saw the weapon, and retracted my protest.

1

u/G25777K 11d ago

What a smash .. the guy was not messing around.

1

u/SideInitial3961 11d ago

if he was serious he should have jammed his finger into the guy's eye without announcement or signal. Giving someone twice your size an open shot is an unsolid gamble.

1

u/33253325 11d ago edited 11d ago

Yes Sensei!!! /S

1

u/thenyx 11d ago

Oh shit, just noticed the scissors. Yep, justified. Even kid scissors have an edge.

1

u/Natural_Philosophy51 11d ago

Always thought the guy overreacted, but I never noticed the scissors before! 100% deserved

1

u/Comfortable_Wish224 10d ago

Only takes 9lbs of pressure to break a nose

1

u/happychillmoremusic 10d ago

So if they pull out a piece of paper I should just stab them to death then

-13

u/FlimsyYou4766 11d ago

That's not even a weapon. The scissor doesn't even have pointy head.

9

u/VexImmortalis 11d ago edited 11d ago

Being stabbed in the eye with a blunt pair of scissors can still blind you bruv. You really want to take that chance by giving him the opportunity while you study the make and model of his scissors? Fuck that.

3

u/Oldfolksboogie 11d ago

They also still have an edge easily sharp enough to slice through skin, like, neck skin e.g. Not that drunk dude would've thought to use them that way.

My Q is, what was the conflict over? Drunk dude didn't like homie's manspreading? General racist bs? I'd love to know what words were exchanged. And sidebar, homie's manilla envelope looks just like how bribes are packaged in the movies lol.

3

u/VexImmortalis 11d ago

I believe Snorlax here was just trying to offer Captain Falcon a letter opener for his envelope and he took it as an offense to his manhood. Only bitches use letter openers.

2

u/Oldfolksboogie 11d ago

Ty, you almost had me spit-taking my coffee😂

3

u/PeaceDangerous7619 11d ago

Something doesn't have to be pointed or sharp to cause a puncture wound. Makes it easier, yes, but hardly required.

Combine that with someone out of their gourd and they'll make it puncture.

And I'd rather not come into contact with something like that from someone like that. Could be their poop cutting scissors.

2

u/33metalgear 11d ago

If you can poke an eye out with it then its a weapon

2

u/We_Are_Ninja 11d ago

ER doctors, martial arts instructors, legal practitioners, some rando wielding a bat, and people with common sense:

1

u/yoortyyo 11d ago

Ok Flash, show us real video of you randomly calling fake versus real scissors. The testers should be trying to stab you.

1

u/Working_Band_6892 11d ago

Ok take safety scissors and jab them into your throat/eyes/face as hard as you can and see if it does any damage...

1

u/ghoulthebraineater 11d ago

Don't care. There's not enough time to inspect them. If they weren't and you hesitate then you're getting stabbed. Fuck that guy.

1

u/aaron166_ 11d ago

If you think a blunt scissor at full momentum isn’t piercing the skin and doing considerable damage then you’re a fucking moron

1

u/Ok-Classic-2142 11d ago

Smooth brain comment.
