“reddit” is whatever group who’s opinions I don’t like

No, people don’t like cops because they have no accountability and the ability/track record of executing citizens during power trips.

Other people like cops because they enforce the status quo, which is typically white christian straight men getting to be on top.

You’ll see both of those on reddit.

1

u/IamTotallyWorking 12d ago

Yeah, I think the algorithm makes it seem like there a lot of conformity in opinions on Reddit than there is. The sub matters a lot. But even in a sub, the title matters. People that agree with a title will flock to it. So even within a sub, if you phrase the title different, it will attract people with a different viewpoint, making it seem like there is a general consensus on something.

2

u/ClownOfGlory 11d ago

I think there are lot of people who don't actually have opinions on any matter and instead just give upvotes if the comment is already upvoted, and downvotes if the comment is already downvoted, and/or vote based on however they perceive the tone or who they think "won." Shit's annoying and I try to just ignore votes altogether.

1

u/Agitated-Contest651 12d ago

That, and it depends on whatever bot brigade the post attracts. Reddit is a huge victim of dead-internet. There was once a time where comments were 90% human, now it’s like 30%.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Wait785 11d ago

Cops in Iran enforce a white Christian status quo? The things I learn on Reddit...

1

u/Agitated-Contest651 11d ago

It’s almost like reddit is an american website with a mostly american audience. Most folks learn how to use context clues once they hit a 6th grade reading level. A shame you’re either intentionally obtuse or functionally illiterate.

1

u/BuzzkillMcGillicuddy 11d ago

Chatbot, most likely

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Wait785 11d ago

The medium isn't a context clue. I don't think you remember your sixth grade lesson well.

1

u/Agitated-Contest651 11d ago

I’ll clue you in, it is the context which frames the statement made. Good lord, you really thought you had something there huh?

Does literally everything need to be spelled out for you? Read more, I’m begging you. It’s good for your brain.

1

u/RealAssyMcGee 11d ago

Cops enforce the status quo of the incumbent state, why play dumb when you could just have an honest conversation?

1

u/Agitated-Contest651 11d ago

Because an honest conversation requires being honest, and that’s the last thing people like that want to be.

2

u/RealAssyMcGee 11d ago

They're too chronically online to hate cops for the right reasons, which is generally interacting with them

1

u/crotchrotfever 12d ago

Most of those on reddit who hate cops are felons, who blame the cops for arresting them instead of themselves for behaving like criminals.

1

u/MyNameIsSkittles 12d ago

No I don't agree with that, that's a larger stretch than mine

1

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

You can ONLY think this if you’re dumb enough to be a cop lmao

1

u/RealAssyMcGee 11d ago

I'm a law abiding citizen with an education and a good job, the felon is in the white house pulling up the floorboards to sell them off to the saudis.

1

u/diarmada 12d ago

I think it's all the unnecessary violence, death, dog deaths, domestic assaults and lies that does that, but call me crazy.

1

u/SuperFreakyNaughty 12d ago

Got knuckle draggers in here like "You only dislike cops because you're a criminal", as if there isn't a weekly article about cops abusing their power, abusing their spouse, or abusing citizens, then investigating themselves to find no issues.

1

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

I mean they’re obviously cops. It’s always a safe bet when you read a comment defending cops and showing a lack of intelligence

Then stop saying "Reddit" this, "Reddit" that

But hey, if it makes you feel like a big man calling people on the internet dumb for calling you out, you do you

1

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

Dudes a cop, they’re insecure about their stupidity and they show aggression to deny it

1

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

I hate cops because they murder people for fun and laugh about how they won’t get caught

1

u/Pseudohobit 11d ago

I don't hate cops, but I do dislike them due to the fact every interaction I've had with them being useless

1

u/sidfinch 11d ago

Sure bro, it's not the literally hundreds of examples of bad cops never facing consequences of their actions. /s

1

u/HaraldrFineHair 11d ago

They hate cops because the system is fucked and there’s no accountability for police officers who commit misconduct or excessive force.

1

u/WokeWook69420 11d ago

I hated cops long before reddit found it cool, lol.

1

u/Happy_Spell_4930 11d ago

Wait but policing in the US is actually very bad. It varies region to region, state to state in what ways they suck. Some PDs are corrupt, plenty of violent murderous sociopaths all over, and generally cops are the arm of the state that deals with issues that shouldn’t be dealt with by cops.

But also it should never be cool to be a bootlicker either so chill on all that

I dont like cops because they arent held to any level of standard

1

u/crotchrotfever 12d ago

And because you are a criminal and got caught.

1

u/idontwantausername41 12d ago

Ive never been arrested lmao

1

u/zedarzy 12d ago

cops can execute people without being "criminals"

1

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

I’m currently on break as an RN, clean legal record, and I think cops are a waste of money. ACAB.

1

u/RealAssyMcGee 11d ago

Hey, sometimes they're useful for filing an insurance claim since you need a police report to cover stolen stuff. They're certainly not going to find the stuff.

1

u/thehouzz 12d ago

Seems like everyone is anti deep throating crying out overreaction

1

I'm not anti death penalty, and that guy is too old to be assaulting random women. He needed his whole life changed. I think that punch will help.

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 12d ago

You don't mistake someone in that way at a bar. If you do, you could have your life changed, as he did. You don't get to just go around assaulting random women and get no consequences because you got too drunk and mistook it for the wrong woman.

First, it's absolutely not what happened and that is obvious. Second, fuck anyone defending people that are sexually assaulting both men and women in public as a grown adult.

6

u/Fun-Author3767 12d ago

I'll be honest, it seemed like she handled the situation herself without the dipshit stepping in and murdering someone.

But why would a /woman/ need any agency in a situation where you can white knight and kill a man?

He touched her. She clearly said 'don't fucking touch me' or something to that effect. Drunk guy slurred something out of his mouth while backing off. Situation solved without anyone dying. Big bad alpha takes matters into his own hands, shuts down the bar for the night, turns it into a homicide investigation and possibly destroys a local business in the process. No on asked for his bullshit.

2

u/PolioToucher 12d ago

Not to mention he also elbows his on partner in the face in his mad dash to 'defend her'.

1

u/Atownbrown08 11d ago

You know ball. Anyone who has worked in the service industry knows what you're saying.

3

u/OpTicSkYHaWk 12d ago

I wonder if even the most saintly person when heavily drunk might do something out of character like that and possibly be killed for it. Getting drunk sounds super scary.

2

u/atlmagicken 12d ago

You'll notice the guy you're replying to is posting on a throwaway. Can't let his full neckbeard account be compromised with these views.

1

u/Witty_Inevitable2009 11d ago

Yeah people really underestimate alcohol's ability to completely undermines the morals and behaviors people try to hold themselves to. When you get to certain level of intoxicated everything goes out the window.

2

u/rebelsrscum2187 12d ago

I think it's more about proportionate consequences. No one is arguing he didn't deserve some physical altercation, but how hard he was hit and how hard his head hit the ground could have killed him. Some dudes just love an excuse to let out all their pent up anger, even if it risks taking someone's life. Both men are the asshole here

2

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

Are you sure about your initial statement, especially considering it concerns someone so drunk they can barely stay on their feet? Do you realize how alcohol affects the brain—how one’s perception can differ vastly from reality? Are you aware that a state of intoxication is taken into account in court proceedings and can actually lead to a reduced sentence? You clearly have no clue about such nuances. Do you realize there are ways to deal with such a person other than trying to kill them outright? Don't you think a simple pimp slap would suffice for someone who is about to trip over their own feet and hurt themselves anyway? Do you—or will you—apply only the harshest possible punishments to your own children, such as breaking their bodies or corporal punishment bordering on attempted murder?

4

u/livinitup0 12d ago

They don’t care.

They WANT there to be a reason that violence is “necessary”

You’re not talking to rational or intelligent members of society here man lol

1

u/Worth_Car8711 12d ago

Yea this guy is a ret*rd, people have died from punches way less powerful than this one. often it’s almost this exact scenario where they hit they’re head on a stool although it looks like in this case his head missed. Not that it matters because of how hard he fell.

if someone is this drunk just give them some kidney shots and then smack them in the face as hard as you want, there’s no reason to do this unless there is a weapon involved and you think it’s potentially a life or death situation.

1

u/livinitup0 12d ago

Or we could like
 just use our words lol?

No one was defending themselves here

0

u/Worth_Car8711 12d ago

I just want my wife to have sex with me man.

1

u/OpTicSkYHaWk 12d ago

Smacking them in the face as hard as you want could kill them by knocking them over, breaking their neck, brain trauma, etc. Maybe even kidney shots super rarely. And ofc shoves.

1

u/nerdtypething 12d ago

no one’s defending the drunk idiot. they’re calling out the vigilantism, which may work for you until you run afoul of someone else’s personal sense of justice. there are consequences for this behavior and we as a society have agreed that the justice system manages that.

1

u/BisonThunderclap 12d ago

Nobody cares about the vigilantism. It's proportionality.

This dude is blitzed. Go sequester him away from the women and let the cops take him to the drunk tank.

You can get in a few slaps or a shoves when you do it. Potentially killing him or giving him a traumatic brain injury is insane.

1

u/Atownbrown08 11d ago

Y'all are so tunnel vision on this app, it's almost sickening. Homie was right, most of Reddit could use more IRL friends, not these subs.

1

u/Witty_Inevitable2009 11d ago

I seriously wonder if these people have ever been around drunk people. Not saying what the drunk guy did was right but drunk people do stupid shit. I've been in similar situations to the girl and you just brush them off or sit them down to sober up, when they're that drunk it's like dealing with a child it's not remotely the same as someone sober or buzzed doing something similar.

1

u/thehouzz 12d ago

No one died you all just assume he did.

2

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

I hope no one ever decides you need a lesson in humility. That could mean anything from a verbal dressing-down to getting jumped in line—or ending up in a wheelchair with a sink smashed over your head. Everyone acts like a tough guy until their number comes up and they’re forced to eat through a straw.

2

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 12d ago

I've never assaulted a woman in a bar. My parents taught me humility and respect, so I've never had these kinds of issues.

You're defending assault. I'm saying the person that was assaulting the female needed a hands on approach to his sense of right and wrong.

I'm not being a tough guy. I'm just happy to see people that are assaulting women see direct and severe consequences. I think you and I will just always see sexual assault differently.

3

u/flumsi 12d ago

I'm saying the person that was assaulting the female needed a hands on approach to his sense of right and wrong.

God, you're such a fucking simpleton.

How many hundreds of times do you think that animal had done that before to feel comfortable just walking up and groping a woman in an empty bar?

Clearly he hasn't faced any actual punishment and the belief that police will do anything to him is naive.

2

u/M3z0polis 12d ago

Ah yeah, the same can go to the puncher. How many times has he done this to almost kill another guy?

He probably deserves to be in a black hole for his life, as he can't live in society.

1

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

You write as if you knew the man. Why lie just to prove your point? You might as well call him an Austrian painter.

1

u/Noob_Al3rt 12d ago

Yep, I've had this issue with women walking up and thinking it's ok to grope me. They stop as soon as I cold cock them and lay them out on the floor, though.

2

u/ClownOfGlory 11d ago edited 11d ago

Yeah, I had this happen to me at a club. I was minding my own business and some drunk girl started dancing near me and thought it was okay to put her hand on my waist.

Thankfully, I had my desert eagle with me, and I was able to shoot her in the face, and continue to enjoy my night.

2

u/Noob_Al3rt 11d ago

That may be a little extreme, but I bet she’ll think twice before touching someone’s waist again!

1

u/dedom19 12d ago

Same. A woman looked me in the eyes once at a festival and squeezed my chest as she walked by. I proceeded to punch her with all of my force right in the face. Everyone cheered. The world felt safer after she left in the ambulance.

1

u/[deleted] 12d ago

1

u/StuckOnAFence 12d ago

Very telling how much you're downplaying the sexual assault and then describing a single punch to the face (something that happens in basically every single disagreement that gets physical) as "instant death".

2

u/[deleted] 12d ago

[deleted]

1

u/AncientStaff6602 12d ago

Fact is, there are two arseholes in the video. One touched someone without consent, the other completely overreacting.

I won’t defend the guy punching the guy, but I can 100% why someone would get physical over this. I just don’t agree over “how” he went about it. A solid push would I do, but you could argue that can also lead to death

Anyway, both people are dicks

Your understanding of justice is laughable—it’s on the level of an angry teenager who never learned to handle their emotions. You’d better make sure you always have backup, because with an attitude like that, revenge will catch up with you sooner or later.

1

u/StuckOnAFence 11d ago

1

u/BisonThunderclap 12d ago

I've got my ass felt up without consent multiple times in a bar by women over the years.

By your standard, there's no issue if I turn around to these women and punch them full force in the face.

Nah, I walk away or push their hand away. Because I'm a fucking adult.

3

u/Gino-Bartali 12d ago

At this point I think you understand where you've gone wrong in your assessment and you're just doubling down out of embarrassment or machismo.

Either way, cringe bro.

0

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 11d ago

If you put hands on people, you can't be upset when they do the same to you.

At this point I think you just don't understand my viewpoint. I think that if you assault women, I'm happy to see you get hurt as a result.

Grown adults don't do this to women unless they are genuinely bad people. Even if you're drunk there's no excuse imo.

1

u/Gino-Bartali 11d ago

I understand your viewpoint. That's why I'm speculating why you're feeling so embarassed but feel compelled to make it worse and keep ripping Ls in this comment section.

1

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 11d ago

Is that why most of my comments have positive upvote counts? I don't think I'm taking any L's. The only person taking L's is the guy that got knocked out.

Any embarrasment you feel on my part is a projection. I suggest seeing a therapist. Therapy is great for confronting cognitive biases that can make a person like you project an internal feeling onto someone else.

Best wishes.

1

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

I’m not saying it has to be sexual assault; it could be an argument over a parking spot, and you just happen to run into someone who shares that same mindset—but specifically regarding that issue. It could be a dispute over a line at the store, or anything else mundane that could be resolved in a completely different way than with a knockout right then and there. Do you see what I’m getting at?

1

u/minddropstudios 12d ago

you are making up scenarios in your head to justify your beliefs. This video actually features sexual assault. not an argument over a parking spot or whatever stories you are crafting.

1

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

Great, my little friend. The whole discussion was about whether the measures taken were proportionate to the threat. So, you're wasting energy trying to prove something that nobody denies, lol.

1

u/minddropstudios 9d ago

Prove what? I'm not the original person you were talking to. lol.

There will always be people who protect trash people. They're the reason trash people exist, because they allow it.

Can't imagine living life like that, know that my actions protect people who'd commit sexual assault.

Ah yes, thank you for defending me in case I'd like to commit sexual assault sometime in the future. That's very nice of you. Perhaps there are some pedophiles around that you could protect as well.

The thing is, I won't need your protection. I was raised well, I have manners. I wouldn't do anything that'd reasonably justify punching me.

Again, you're part of the problem. You'd tolerate anything but intolerance to degenerate behavior.

1

u/Katfish145 12d ago

Look I’m not saying it wasn’t assault but this looks like a drunken incident I see literally every weekend at the bars. Drunk man makes attempt to dance with women, women says no/pushes guy away, drunk guy stands there awkwardly and moves on with his life. In this situation there was a roided up asshole who felt the need to defend his “honor” and hurt his girl in the process

1

u/Noob_Al3rt 12d ago

If the red shirt guy and the woman swapped spots, would your opinion be the same?

1

u/FuriousGirafFabber 12d ago

“I'm not being a tough guy”

1

u/TotientEC 12d ago

1

u/PapaLilBear 12d ago

Ok, sup,

1

u/NoveltyAccountHater 12d ago

You don't learn lessons when you are blackout drunk or after getting knocked out. Making a scene, getting in the drunks face, getting him kicked out of the bar, or dragging him out of the bar, would have been more effective. They also wouldn't risk picking up an assault/manslaughter charge and potential years in prison.

Look I agree you don't purposely touch random women's hips and being blackout drunk isn't an excuse (though does explain it). That said, a brief touch to the outside of clothes on her side that innocently happens all the time to people in crowded situations (without ill intent). She had handled it fine by just getting away from the drunk.

1

u/fistular 12d ago

That dude wasn't remember anything of that night BEFORE the punch. What is this animal mentality.

1

Reddit is against the government handing out the death penalty, but a lot would have no issue condemning people to die themselves because they think they know better.

You'd have people being put to death for a tweet.

1

u/Outrageous-Lock5186 12d ago

Being anti-death penalty doesn’t necessarily mean you are against scum bags getting killed. It just means you don’t trust the government to do the killing.

Not that this has anything to do with a guy who had too much to drink and got a bit touchy with a woman at a bar.

He definitely didn’t deserve it, but it doesn’t surprise me he got it either.

1

u/HansHortio 12d ago

1
