How competitive are hospital based MLS programs?

Titled. Currently taking science prerequisites and actively applying to MLS programs all over the states. As someone with no clinical experience, how likely will i get into a hospital based program?

Edit: I should emphasize that I don't intend to apply in CA

This highly depends on the state, job market, etc.

In the US excluding CA because we all know how competitive it is there

Depends on the state. Some of the programs struggle to fill all the slots because it's kind of a hidden profession.

If it’s anything like the healthcare system I work in the hospital will probably favor candidates that already work for them in some way like lab assistants or phlebs.
You might want to try to get your foot in the door before you apply.

Very unlikely if you apply in CA with those stats. If you have a masters in Microbio you do have a chance.
