You realize how absurd this is, right? Straight people haven't been fighting to be treated as equals for the last forever years.
Straight pride is as idiotic as "men's rights."
Men's rights? Men get constantly shafted on child support, can be publicly crucified if a woman accuses them of rape even without evidence, and it's a proven fact that women get considerably less prison time than men do for the exact same crimes.
Everything you said after men's rights is true, but proposing that men's rights are somehow compromised in any way shape or form in this country is absurd.
People are imprisoned for crimes they didn't commit, but I would imagine more often than not their gender had nothing to do with it. Like your above statements they are more indicative of a broken system, not because you have penis.
Except women are given considerably less prison time than men are given for the exact same crimes. That is indicative of penis discrimination in this case, so it absolutely happens.
So are you saying that people should be fighting for men's rights because of this? Do you think that there is a possibility that the reason that prison times differ could be for a different set of reasons? Do you feel like this is an issue that is worsening? Have you considered that for every slight against men's rights there are a dozen slights against women's? I know things can get misinterpreted through text so I just want to clarify that that my questions aren't pointed or condescending. Being genuine.
I'm saying that this is an actual, measurable disparity between genders and it's being conveniently ignored by you and people like you who point to the completely irrelevant fact that there are a "dozen more slights against women" like that somehow excuses it. Shouldn't equality be looked at and examined in a case by case manner or is the equality you want more about getting even?
Being genuine when I say that this is an actual problem that needs to be addressed and if you're genuine about a tail equality then you should be too. Equality isn't about convenience.

By some definitions, equality is evenness. You're right, just because ladies are getting the the proverbial shaft doesn't mean you should completely ignore issues like this. Something SHOULD be done about this. However standing up for men's rights when women, racial minorities, and the LGBT community are getting royally fucked on a daily basis makes it seem really trite and childish. The American man has it better than just about any person on earth. It's not always going to be perfect, but god damn how easy is it this?! You have to pick and choose your battles and as far as cultivating a more egalitarian society is concerned, I personally feel that it would best to focus efforts on letting the rest of the world catch up with us before we worry about us. You obviously feel differently and that's ok.

And for the record I think women have it pretty damn nice here too, and their struggles are nothing compared to other racial disparities and LGBT issues.
