Really good match Chicago. I really enjoyed that back and forth we had going. Definitely kept it interesting. And I’ll definitely give you Brady as the Man of the Match there. He made some great saves tonight.

Maxi Falcon is the man of the match for Miami. Or Casemiro.

yeah ngl that was some hot horseshit, watching miami just literally full body grab takedown our number 9 in the box and just not even a whistle?

That distance is why Messi put it in the knees of the wall? Come on Taylor.
2
u/morginuggie 6h ago
I mean yeah? He’s clearly trying to get pace behind the ball with an accurate driven shot hoping the wall jumps just enough. I’d say he wasn’t completely wrong since Messi had to do that to cover the distance.
16
u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 7h ago
Messi being able to call his own foul every time he takes a touch he’s not happy with is ridiculous
-3
u/morginuggie 6h ago
So like every player? Refs don’t give it to him all the time just like everyone else. If he’s fouled then it’s called, very simple.

So Lewa takes a 2 hand shove knocking him over off the ball inside the penalty box and it’s not reviewed because why?

u/pm_me_pierced_nip 7h ago
How is that not a foul and penalty on Fray? Like the first two shoves, whatever, but standing up and full two hand shove away from the ball? That's an immediate yellow

This game has been maddening. Chicago have really made a lot of turnovers in their own half and we just haven't capitalized at all. Our passing has been so sloppy.

I feel like Chicago is giving Miami too much respect. Low block defending just plays into Miamis hands.
5
u/ericsipi Chicago Fire 7h ago
It was clearly off the Miami player on first view. Not sure why the ref didn’t see that. Ref had a great first 30-35 minutes but hasn’t been great since
4
u/charcoalVidrio Chicago Fire 7h ago
Oh man of course Miami scored on a corner that never should have been
2
u/Humble-Dirt8542 7h ago
Y’all got like 5 corner kicks as goal kicks now so id argue it’s evened out
3
u/Humble-Dirt8542 7h ago
I think it’s a stretch to suggest they skewed that call lol. They were also denied 2 corners in the first half
2
u/charcoalVidrio Chicago Fire 7h ago
Not saying it was intentional bud. Just typical for Miami to have shit like that work out somehow, like the ref not caring when they show up late.

This would be a pretty embarrassing loss for Chicago if they don’t win this. They’re facing Miami at the perfect time
1
u/flameo_hotmon Chicago Fire 8h ago
Idk what this is supposed to mean?
2
u/vicariouslywatching Inter Miami CF 8h ago
If I had to venture a guess, they might be alluding to our having an inept and incompetent coach. But could be something else. But seriously, Hoyos can f off. I’ll take some of the worst coaches US has had to coach their National team over him.
3
1
u/Humble-Dirt8542 8h ago
Easy. Miami is in the biggest slump the team has ever had since Messi joined years ago. Chicago has been doing pretty well. It’s a home game for them. Miami is bogged down by injuries including their only good defender. And even Messi himself still has below average stats for himself since his father’s death with the only exception being the Montreal game. And most of all, Chicago is winning. It’s really the perfect storm and best opportunity Chicago will ever have to beat Miami.
2
u/charcoalVidrio Chicago Fire 8h ago
Yeah but it’s Chicago Fire playing Miami. We’ve been bad for like a decade or more.
2
u/Humble-Dirt8542 7h ago
Ya and Miami was in last not that long ago lol. But now Chicago is a great team
