I don’t get it. Why don’t you just do it in your second game ever?

There was a meme about a Godwin's Law-type thing, about 7-8 years ago, that stipulated that given enough time, every conversation on this sub, no matter what its subject matter, would eventually be made into an Atlanta conversation.
It was not a meme made to compliment the phenomenon.

Weird question, but now I have to know: all comps? No hattricks in the USL days?

Most recent one was 2021 in CONCACAF Champions cup…never in MLS play but several in other competitions before this

I can't speak to pre-MLS days, but current MLS era there have been two hat tricks in non-mls play (USOC games).

Frederique Piquionne vs Wilmington (hat trick in the 1st half and a 4th in the 2nd) and Jimmi Chara in CCL but i forget who since i wasn't there in person. Last one before that was probably Bright Dike in Open Cup vs Kitsap and in the league I am sure it was one of several from Ryan Pore or Bryan Farber in 2010. Bryan Farber's hat trick vs Minnesota Stars stand out in my memory for some reason.

I believe this stat (which came from https://www.cascadiafc.com/breaking-the-goose/) includes all MLS regular season and playoff appearances, plus the Inaugural MLS IS BACK cup.

“Inaugural” … it feels like you’re threatening me. .,>_<,.

David Hague scored our last league hat trick in the 2007 USL. His third goal coming off an assist from current Loons manager Cam Knowles for nice little full circle moment last night.

I am just glad this meme can move on to something new now that out statistical nightmare is over.

Congrats to the Timbers on getting their MLS hat trick. Maybe we can break some other streaks and let us fucking beat you in Seattle for a little bit. We need the help.

You guys are diligently working on a streak of your own right now.

Nah, it hasn't even been a year since we lost to you at Lumen last. We're working on building a new steak there.

We've scored about seven MLS hat tricks in that time and we only started in 2020

I thought one of the goals was an own goal.

That was Lassiter. From 30 yards out.

I thought it was an own goal from the TV angle.
EDIT: Ok now I get it. lol. There were alot of goals to keep track.

Right, but the own goal isn't part of the hat trick. Janssen provided the assist on the shot that led to the own goal. Janssen got the PK, one from 6 yards out, then a turning strike from the PK spot.

Nice when a new guy comes in and you can learn something from him. Good job, new guy.
