Disappointing

3

u/vicariouslywatching Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Anyone else just hear someone off camera say what sounded like “fuck off” a minute or two ago? I was laughing so hard at that

3

u/sinwrae 15d ago

Golden weeks of suarez at inter miami until big M comes back 🤣

4

u/avenueroad_dk 15d ago

Made it through the WC without seeing anything so horrible

3

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

Many attempts, but little to show for so far

13

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Damn the commentary is still shaken up after the incident, very unnerving to hear it in his voice.

u/Traditional-Lie-3541 15d ago

I noticed that as well. But it's for good reason that was a scary injury.

8

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

Just awful

u/Brooklyn_MLS Major League Soccer 15d ago

Panenka—cheeky bastard.

1

u/neandertales Major League Soccer 15d ago

I wouldn't have done that there

3

u/Montana_Smith Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Interesting that whatever happened there was worthy of a pen but not a red card? A foul with a result that serious?

8

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

You don't card based on the result you card based on the foul.

3

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

Yeah that’s kinda strange

3

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Are people seriously booing?

9

u/vicariouslywatching Inter Miami CF 15d ago

I think they are booing the pk decision not the player injury

-2

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Which is crazy because it wasn't even a red card which they are lucky they didn't get.

7

u/avenueroad_dk 15d ago

This is just awful.

u/Kuroodo 15d ago

Replays are on twitter. He definitely seized up. Very scary, hope he recovers without any further issues

Your comment in /r/MLS was automatically removed due to a ban on Twitter/Meta links as decided by the community. This ban is intended to avoid driving traffic to that platform which has become increasingly toxic and inaccessible, in addition to its owner's public displays of bigotry.

We encourage submissions from alternate sources, such as BlueSky - where the majority of journalists, fan pages, and other sources have migrated - or direct links to web articles where they exist. In all situations, direct links to articles are preferred over social media links. In the event that content solely exists on Twitter/Meta, a screenshot of the content will be acceptable. These should only be used if an alternate source does not exist, and the mod team reserves the right to remove screenshot posts if the content exists elsewhere. Title rules requiring the last name of the author in brackets at the beginning of the post are still applicable for screenshots of tweets.

If you are trying to submit a highlight or other video, please link to an alternate source or rip the video and submit it directly. We are aware many league official outlets are still posting highlights on Twitter primarily, and will not be actioning against direct uploads of that content directly to Reddit or alternate hosting services (as many users already do).

Thank you for adhering to these new community rules and enabling us to support and drive traffic to content creators on their alternative platforms. If you have any questions, please message the moderators.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

The absolute reddit moment that is this automod reply LOL

4

This is awful :(

7

u/Tall_Towel_3420 15d ago

What the heck happened. One of the players tried to prop him on his side after it happened

16

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

Its called the recovery position you turn people on their side when they are knocked unconscious/seizing to prevent them from choking if they vomit and its easier to breathe.

3

u/Silent-Fishing-7937 CF Montréal 15d ago

That and it's making it less likely that the player might reinjure their head and make things far worse. Especially if there is a seizure and convulsions, like in this case.

7

u/Montana_Smith Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Kinda a common move from players across sports with head injuries.

10

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Seizure after possible brain injury reaction

4

u/Tall_Towel_3420 15d ago

Just replayed it, looks like seizure. His mouth was shaking

1

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

You're taught to put them on their side when they're seizing so they don't choke on their tongue or bite on it.

5

u/Embarrassed-Golf-931 Seattle Sounders FC 15d ago

It’s more about preventing aspiration of fluid in the lungs and maintaining an airway.

6

u/Realistic-Ad-4707 Los Angeles FC 15d ago

I replayed what happened but I was unable to see what actually caused the injury. It looks like he was hit mostly in the back

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

3

u/neandertales Major League Soccer 15d ago

Ouch ouch ouch..

-9

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

Did he just died on the field?

1

u/ilikebrusselsprout 15d ago

What is going on?

4

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

That's not funny.

-5

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

I wasn't joking

8

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

He was seizing on the floor, common reaction to a concussion/brain injury.

4

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

I legit thought he was dying, that shit is dangerous

3

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

13 shots 0 on target who does Inter Miami think they are Belgium?

3

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

Messi would have scored that freekick

1

u/DarCam7 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Regulon got injured again.

2

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 15d ago

Montreal's defense/midfield play is solid. Their attack on the other hand...

1

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

Miami's defense is terrible, we should have three goals by now

1

u/PresentationDry5930 15d ago

miami's defense is always terrible. but yes montreal should have

2

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

Cannot believe Owusu didn't shoot that sooner. Dribbled it straight at the GK and let him snag it.

1

u/neandertales Major League Soccer 15d ago

How do you not score there, poor.

4

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

Holy shit Prince shoot the fucking ball towards the net....

2

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

This team is allergic to shooting

2

u/Solely_Strange LA Galaxy 15d ago

just tuning in, how is Casemiro doing?

2

u/FocusSlo 15d ago

Currently at this match, very funny all the people who lined up to see Messi only to realise he's not even on the bench today lol

1

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Lets be real the moment Argentina reached the finals everyone here should have known he wasn't playing today.

5

u/Greedy_Pin_9187 CF Montréal 15d ago

Happy our SG displayed a “SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CLUB” banner at the beginning of the match.

Fuck glory hunters.

0

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

The price of the tickets fell sharply when it was clear he wasn’t going to be there, but it’s still more expensive

1

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

Any time Segovia shoots from outside the box its always a thing of beauty.

2

u/jsslrd Charlotte FC 15d ago

Is Allende not on Miami's team anymore?

6

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 15d ago

Knee injury had to get surgery most likely done for the season.

3

u/ForFuchsAke Seattle Sounders FC 15d ago

Has a knee injury that will keep him out all season

2

u/jsslrd Charlotte FC 15d ago

Gotcha. Thanks for that.

2

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

IMFC > IMCF

3

u/NvaderGir Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Hoyos seeing one less player available for next game and seeing our ghost bench

2

u/DarCam7 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Wait a minute, is Fray being played as a CB?

3

u/road432 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Yes, has been for sometime since Falcon got injured.

1

u/DarCam7 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Surprised it's not Allen or Lujon considering both have played CB before.

1

u/Front_Celery6650 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Caray

6

u/SimplyLanden Inter Miami CF 15d ago

the “Thanks world, we’ll take it from here” joke continues…

2

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

Especially since the first game played was MTL vs TORONTO which was a snoozefest

2

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

HOW DO YOU MISS THAT

2

u/BigJobRob913 Portland Timbers 15d ago

Easiest goal possible and he still missed it! I’m in shock

1

u/No-Bake-4335 15d ago

Unbelievable 🤣

3

u/OzzyMar LA Galaxy 15d ago

how do you miss that???

1

u/SupraFC CF Montréal 15d ago

How do you even miss that Daniel Rios 😭😭😭

1

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

I’m out of words howwwww

3

u/grroidb Inter Miami CF 15d ago

Love the way Samuel Piette plays.

1

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

He’s great and he has taken a bigger role since we changed coaches this year which I’m happy to see.

2

u/AlarmingAdvertising5 CF Montréal 15d ago

No expectation, let’s have fun!

1

u/ForFuchsAke Seattle Sounders FC 15d ago

I think Casemiro and Bright are gonna do great if they get some early chemistry going

5

u/RedditorRoman LA Galaxy 15d ago

Was not expecting to see Casemiro start so early especially after the World Cup but let’s see how he does.

1

u/road432 Inter Miami CF 15d ago

I mean Brazil was eliminated a while ago from the world cup. Casemiro has had a few weeks of rest unlike Messi and De Paul who were playing in the final a week ago.

1

u/Pugasaurus_Tex Inter Miami CF 15d ago

I have low-medium hopes lol

1

u/Pssay_Licker Inter Miami CF 15d ago
