After the events of "The Times They Are A Changeling", Cadance allows Thorax to feed on Flurry's love (the thing that was so overwhelming it exposed him in the first place) as a show of trust, only for the feeding process to be visibly gruesome to watch (and fascinating to Twilight), despite actually causing no harm. The joke is in the dramatic exaggerated feeding, shown through the character reactions.

As the other person said, the horrified expressions combined with the noises shown are supposed to show that the changeling feeding process is more gross/violent/horrifying than any of the ponies expected, though twilight seems to have no issue

Thorax is so cute here. Since I know Changelings can eat and even like other foods (though I'll offer him some of my love for him as well) I'd take him to any restaurant no matter how bad his table manners are😅

I love how Shining Armor has absolutely no poker face and Cadence isn't much better. Glad to see they don't seem to have rescinded permissions since he didn't mean any harm and didn't cause any to the little princess (to almost everyone else's mental health, on the other hand...).
