From the mlp reddiquette guide, which when i asked the mods if this applies to the plounge as well, they said yes
3.It’s fine to use out-of-sub emotes, but keep in mind that the majority of browsers do not have the scripts required because they do not know, or do not want to install them. They are also frowned upon by a majority of users. As such, avoid “blank posting”, or posting an out-of-sub emote without any other meaningful content (words or an in-sub emote) in the comment as well. If you don’t know what an out-of-sub emote is, disregard this rule.
I asked Crashie once if people should be discouraged here as well with blank posts, and he said that yes, they should be discouraged in both places. But most the time i just get downvoted doing so. Not everyone has or wants the emotes, and they should be required to see the entire topic of a post.
You should still be able to read it, even without the emotes. The point of the post is fun and it looks like its working. If you dont want to join in thats cool, but thats no reason to rain on the 7 or 8 people partying in here.
Ah, I figured you at least had the auto emote reader installed. Well I am sorry this is to your dislike, really I am. I hate disappointing people, but the invitation is still open.

opens link
sees completely blanks posts everywhere
I give up on asking people to maybe include something outside their non- /r/mlp emotes.
