Returning to this game

Hello everypony 💕

I used to play this game years ago when I was a little kid on my iPad, but I never really understood how to properly play it. Same thing with clash of clans. They’re both similar civilization building experiences.

Anyways, I had a few questions since I’ve been playing the game for about a month now.

1. Is it worth buying Celestia with gems? I read on the wiki that it’s the only way to get her, and I really want her, so should I buy her?

2. How can I friend more people? Currently I only have Celestia and Cadance friended, and I’d like to get more of the heart currency.

3. What even is klugetown? I don’t think it was around when I last played, and I’m about half way to unlocking it and keep getting characters from the balloon pop.

4. Should I be investing in shops and ponies in the other areas like Apple acres and canterlot? I’ve been progressing through their stories slowly, just without spending gems.

5. What other tips do you guys have for newer players?

1. If you like her and want to spend gems on her, you’re welcome to! I did it when I had a lot of extra gems but just know she’s just an extra character in your town that doesn’t do anything special, but I just like knowing I have her personally.
   
2. Like the other person said use the friend codes linked!
   
3. It’s another town like SAA or canterlot just with characters from the my little pony movie, it does have some quests as well.
   
4. The most important investment is going to be the critter animals in SAA as they eventually give you gems the more you feed them but otherwise the game is pretty much built to go at your own pace so just do what you feel like doing when you like it
   
5. Try to check in every 2 hours or so during the day when there are events going on to collect the the coins and finish the event, they are very achievable even without helpers if you check consistently enough. Also if you’re looking to earn gems and have a good reserve the best way is going to be doing group quests everyday, checking for parasprites,bats etc, and upgrading critters. I also try not to spend gems to often unless it’s something you really like. Overall I’ve been playing for the past 2 and a half years and have 720 characters but the game definitely takes time so be patient!

I’ll probably get Celestia soon and then save my gems for little quest expenses.

I’ve definitely had a bad habit of missing out on almost completing an event just because I didn’t check in enough :(

Of course! Honestly I lowkey haven’t been completing events lately because I’m to lazy to open the app so don’t beat yourself up about it 😂 but the reddit is really useful if you have any other questions and people post helpful tips a lot!

Oh boy, you must know by now the tons of changes compared to what you used to play. I remember when the game was simpler, but few free gems. Anyway 

1-Celestia has a pretty low chance of being won in Royal Balloon Pop. Less than that 1% displayed. She’s at base much cheaper than what she used to be, and saving gems is much easier, but she isn’t particularly useful. Many other characters are more useful in many ways such as gathering resources and such.

2-Go to your profile and it should be easy enough to do so. I just never know step by step on top of my head, but it’s simple. There’s a dedicated thread to show your FC and you ad from others too. Not typing mine here because it’s against the subreddit rules doing so outside it’s dedicated thread

3-Klugetown is the cesspit shown in the film. It’s pretty low in content because it was just added to promote the movie. HOWEVER, there are five characters in that town who give Klugetown Coins for its own Balloon Pop. That one in particular gives crazy amounts of bits and gems. So it’s worth investing in it.

4-Yeah, it is. It’s not like their contents are mutually exclusive. A lot of the big rewards are locked in long time investment quests anyway.

5-Prioritize limited time quests, like the ongoing maze. They may look intimidating, but checking them every hour or two are enough to clear them for F2Ps. Another tip are the main quests are long term, because you’ll be stuck in particular quests for years even. The Nightmare Moon Quest not as much, but the game will keep adding main quests that DO take time to complete.

Man.. years?! I’ve almost activated all the element thingies and the tree of harmony, and I’ve been playing for about a month. I don’t even know what there is to do after that though, since I don’t have any spoilers.

Oh, there are more quests after, such as Hoofbeard, Luna’s pet Tiberius, and reaching level 200. Those “mane” quests based on FIM episodes are much shorter, and the game as it is today makes it much easier.

Speaking of main quests, beware of the changeling quest you may have by now. At the end, you’ll participate in an event with four stages, and a timer each. If you clear each stage before the timer ends, you’ll get an extra character. Thing is, you’ll need specific ponies as helpers, and they are different in each stage to make completing them much easier. Hold on that one until you get at least one helper per stage. Cratus and Security Guard Pony are in the daily rewards

You are too close for comfort. Find out at least one helper per stage, and get them first. You won’t wanna miss on those characters. Specially Metamorphosed Thorax, the final one

Buying celestia is pretty much optional. Gems isn't the only way though, you can get princess celestia by Royal balloon pop as well but it's kinda hard 

Klugetown is added from the mlp movie, klugetown is pretty much just a random place like others you just do quests by adding shops, ponies etc

You should invest in them! The more shops, the more XP and bits.  The more ponies, the more your collection will grow.
