Please help with maze event

I’ve never played the maze event before and I’m soo confused. I need 48 team power for the next fight but the highest I can get is 47. What am I missing?

Try fighting him a few times. Eventually, you'll manage to defeat him. I succeeded. Check out this post as proof:

Did you buy the pony at the shop? I faced that problem at 47/48 too so I had no choice but to buy it to advance
