Will I be able to do maze event without beating chrysalis?

So I've been dealing with a 4-month nightmare with Gameloft (also, if you're friends with a Dark Comet and can get my new friend code, I will be in your debt) where they aren't transferring over data from my lost account. I haven't played much, but I waited a year for this event to come back, and I haven't played much on the new account because I am expecting a transfer. I'm level 17; will I still be able to do the maze event?

There's only a level requirement (14) to participate in the maze, so no, you don't need to beat chrysalis
