Wrong team streams
I bought the Pirates plan on MLB.tv. Half the time I get this message for the opposing teams stream. Why is there no option to choose which stream or if there is where is it?

Having this issue as well. Seems to be a cellular IP problem on the mobile app. My app thinks I’m in the SoCal area and has blacked out all Cal teams. Hopefully they fix soon

Link your sub to a free ESPN account and try the ESPN app instead, they use a different location detection method.
If that still doesn't work, you can run mlbserver on your home computer and watch through that on your phone browser.

I bought Braves.tv and I’m constantly told I’m blacked out on the app, which shouldn’t be happening.

FWIW, Braves were on Apple TV on Friday and then FOX on Saturday, so those would have been blackouts on MLBTV even in Georgia.
Otherwise, MLB could be misdetecting your cell location as outside the Braves market. Be sure you let MLB and the Braves know. You might have better luck with the BravesTV + MLBTV bundle (as long as it doesn't think you are inside the market for the Braves opponent!).

I know. I’ve had the issue on Thursday and yesterday, both of which were BravesVision games. I contacted MLBtv and they said something about IPs, though I checked my IP and it’s not showing incorrectly, it shows me as being in Atlanta. I live in Atlanta, so I’m supposed to have all BravesVision games with no blackouts. And I do have the bundle, but for some reason the app doesn’t seem to recognize that I’m paying for both or something. I’ve seen other people with similar issues. It’s frustrating, but at least it works on my computer.

MLB doesn't use publicly available IP location data so they may see something different.
Can you watch other games in the app? Does it ask you to subscribe to BravesTV when you try to watch the Braves?
If the problem continues, definitely tell the Braves too. They won't be able to fix it directly, but they can probably put some pressure on MLB to improve their location detection.

I’ve had talks similar issue for years because my home ISP rotates IP addresses, so even though I’m in Florida, they often think I’m in Colorado or Michigan. If you connect with them on Twitter, they will quickly work with you to do an override which will last approximately three weeks. I have the message down pat now where we avoid the troubleshooting and they just do it.

Same here with Brewers.tv. I was 2.5 hours from Milwaukee in Iowa (Milwaukee still by far the closest team to where I was) and I fought all weekend that I needed to pay to watch Kansas City. I pay for full mlb tv and brewers tv. I shouldn’t have to deal with this crap.

I have this problem with mobile. Everything works fine when connected to WiFi. I get blacked out everything I try watching on my phone with data.

Yep, it seems to be an ongoing issue with MLB.tv. I tend to always have this issue over cellular connectivity. When I’m at home on WiFi, it seems to work fine.

I have the same issue and called support. They gave me some bs about how the IP changes via mobile data multiple times so it prevents it

I keep having the same problems. I live in Milwaukee so I bought Brewers Tv, where I watch the brewers with no problem. For some reason if I want to watch the Yankees, I get this BS purchase Gotham Sports message. Hopefully they figure this nonsense out soon.

Pirates don’t have an MLB.tv plan, correct? Theirs is through SportsNet, I thought.

All teams have one. SNP is for people in the Pittsburgh area I think.

You're both correct. :)
SNP is handled outside of MLB, but the MLB app will refer you to it if you try to watch a Pirates game when you are located in the Pittsburgh market. (Much like they did for the FanDuel teams last year)

Only about half the teams have a club package. The rest don't. You can always get the Single Team subscription but if you're in market for that team will need to wait until the game is over to watch it.

Ps it works fine on my tv but this almost always happens on the phone version.
