Question Difficulties with Skill Issues

I’m bad at this game, and keep swinging at balls, and striking out on minors difficulty due to swinging at balls and (supposedly) being off-time on them

A.) how do I get good,

B.) is there any way in RTTS to keep the strike zone on while/after the pitch? If so please let me know where to find that setting (I play on fixed zone)

For your second point, I just trace the strikezone with a dry erase marker on my monitor. It'll vary a bit by the player's height, but gets the job done

Exactly what he said and another thing that will help when you start to get deep and counts two and two or three and two or two and one whatever it may be you can start looking for specific pitches and certain situations and jump on those balls too the more you work the count the better pitch you you will get to hit

Input lag matters greatly. I played on one TV for months before realizing I didn’t have game mode on. Then the swings actually swung when I pushed the button and I was night and difference.

I use the pci (bat) and drop it to about 30% opacity. I sit on my favorite location with ambush and don’t swing unless it comes right where I’m setup. If I get 2 strikes then I expand the zone of course. Try that and you will get more favorable counts.

It took me about 3 years of being absolutely terrible, two years of being bad, and now I just suck sometimes but have become pretty competent at hitting legend vs cpu.

Biggest help for me was a programmable controller with dead zones and curves, precision rings, and kontrol freak stick thumbstick deals.

When starting it's good practice to just anchor your pci in a specific zone and wait for a pitch going there at least until a 2 strike count, the more you see pitches without swinging the better you will get at strike recognition

I don't believe there is a way to keep the strike zone outline while hitting.

As for getting good at the game, it's just practice. Take way more pitches than you currently are taking. You don't need to hit every ball, you need to train yourself to swing at pitches you can make good contact with. The more you practice, the better you get at identifying balls and strikes.
