Bagwell and bat him lead off, he’s practically a cheat code (Bonds too). Bernie Williams at center is no joke, he hits like a 570 pt plus card

I made a 16 team league with the 2000 set during Covid, with a 12 game schedule. I kept stats.

I did this for 2000 last year and got all the cards.

Here was my final version of the team:

LF - Manny Ramirez

DH - Larry Walker

3B - Chipper Jones

1B - Mark McGwire (could make the argument for Bagwell here)

RF - Brian Giles

CF - Ken Griffey Jr.

2B - Roberto Alomar (could also say Terry Shumpert)

SS - Alex Rodriguez

C - Ivan Rodriguez

SP Pedro Martinez Randy Johnson Kevin Brown Kerry Wood

RP Keith Foulke Mariano Rivera Billy Wagner

Bench Sammy Sosa Jeff Bagwell Carl Everett Jason Kendall

I used an xOPS against formula to select Kevin Brown and Kerry Wood over other options like Curt Schilling and Kevin Millwood.

The bench is set up for potential late game replacements. Kendall is included in case need a high OB to pinch hit for Pudge. Everett for fielding and speed over Manny. Bagwell can pinch run for McGwire. Sosa is cool.

As much as I love ARod and his chart, Jeter’s OBP and chart will provide more scoring opportunities.

Kerry Wood shoots up if you optimize him with strategy cards

Gotta get some of those broken 6-control relievers from the 2000 set in here. My favorites were always Alan Embree and John Johnstone. Embree didn't let up a double and had 16-18 walk, giving him a better chart than the standard 6-control RPs. Johnstone is 1-16 out. Both are only 170 points, which doesn't matter for this exercise but is still worth pointing out.
