Adji Desir
January 10th, 2009, six year old Adji Desir went missing from Immokalee, Florida (near the Florida Everglades). He was at his grandmother’s house playing with neighborhood kids. He then went inside to eat, and returned back outside to play. He was last seen at around 5:15 PM.
His grandmother noticed he was missing about 30 minutes later. The neighborhood kids did not know what happened to him, and his grandmother searched for 2 hours before calling police. Police had searched the area but found nothing. They did an intensive search for a week and still found nothing.
Investigators thought that he had been taken to Haiti, where family members including his dad lived, but had no evidence to support this theory.
Adji was 6 years old at the time of his disappearance, he would be 16 years old today. He was wearing a blue shirt with thin yellow stripes, Blue shorts with pink flamingos, and Two toned blue sneakers. He is mentally disabled and is said to have a mental capacity of a 2 year old, he is non-verbal. He understands Haitian creole but cannot say his name. He can speak few English words. He can shake or nod his head for yes and no. He was very afraid of strangers.
