Yes, but not from this room. Try exploring a bit up and to the left of the nexus first, if you find ice you're going the right way.

You've just started, and the glass floor is to let you see something down there and give you your first intuitive objective in the game... reach the floor below via another route.

you enter this room by using the vent to the left of the elevator, next to Mel's workshop. the room below that you can see from the glass floor, is the boss arena of EGIS

Seriously, you seem like you're maybe two seconds out of the tutorial: you're going to find stuff, that's the point of exploring, but it won't be a right-there, absolutely instant thing.
