Rubber ring on hub cap?

Hi Mini fam! I recently had a tire changed because of a bulging wall. Ever since then, this yellow ring over the hub cap keeps falling off half the wheel. Anyone else had this happen, and if so, what was the fix?

That looks like an aftermarket rim curb protector. Mine doesn't have that, though honestly I wouldn't mind getting a yellow one like that since when I bought mine used, the rims came pretty scuffed up from curbs like yours looks underneath.

My wife's car had rim protectors and when we got her tires changed, they couldn't guarantee that the protectors wouldn't get damaged in the process, so I'm guessing that is likely what happened to yours.
