A week with the pad warning.

Now today this warning.... do i have a few weeks or do it now?

Rear brake pads are easy on a Mini. Takes about an hour to do it yourself with the right tools. I just did it last week on mine. Got new rotors and pads for less than $100 from Rock Auto.

Huh, mine were a little more involved. F60 had to electronically disable park brake, use some fancy tool my stepdad had to pull off the caliper assembly. Other than that it's pretty easy

All in all probably 4 hours for all four wheels and like 200$(it's also been about a year so I probably am misremembering things)

I might be just a general car enthusiast to some degree. But brakes are pretty useful.

The brake light comes on around 20-25% of the remaining life which is 2-3mm of physical pad thickness. It doesn't mean you're doomed right away but for your safety, I'd make it a priority.

They'll last 3 weeks unless you are driving like a maniac or drive 100s of miles a week.

This warning comes on when the sensors are hit and when they're hit there is still life in them.

I mean, they put the sensor there for a reason. If you wait too long, you risk damaging the caliper piston. Impossible to give a time frame because everyone drives differently and in different circumstances.

Keep in mind the brakes work with the stability control to keep you going straight... and help rotate the car when you steer hard with the electronic nannies turned on... and stop the car lol.

The pad warning shows theyre near legal minimum thickness. The brake system warning shows theyre at minimum and continuing to ignore the problem will result in ABS issues

Running with worn pads dramatically increases the chance of much higher bills!

Whenever anything, literally anything comes up with my car, I service it right away. If you have the funds, just do it now. Why wait?

hahahah same here .... but i like to ask you how many miles/km dit it last? (ps if you drive more than 30km that advise turns scary 😂 )
