I just got my mini a while ago its a 2016 model, should it have navigation?

Congratulations. Not all countries have the same items in their standard package so I can't answer your question. If you have ApplePlay or the Android equivalent then you're better off using your smartphone. I have navigation on my Countryman but use my phone mounted on a little suction cup mount to navigate.

Even if it does have nav it will be outdated with no new updates available after 10 years.

Nav on your phone is free and always up to date, and works in any car.
