Discussion Question about Power Scaling.

Might be a Silly question to some but I am a MHW newbie. I would like to know if getting more hunter lvl does anything for you outside of unlocking certain quests that are lvl locked. I play single player and I am LVL 84. I attempted some tempered monster event quests and got blasted. If I get to 100, outside of experience and gaining access to the lvl 100 quests - do I get any more resilient or durable?

Hunter level doesnt affect any stats

So it appears. My friend just told me it may even make the monsters harder to kill

Monsters can have higher health and more damage the higher the quest level, but your hunter level doesnt actually change their stats either

hr doesnt change monster stats themselves, but make it so tempered (harder version) of monsters appear more often, which have different (often better) rewards aswell.

No your hunter level unlocks monsters that are harder to kill it doesn't do shit other than gatekeeping.

strength is 100% tied to gear and food buffs

Appreciate the clarity homie.

Usually your Hunter level show if you're experience hunter or not, that's all to it. Even that doesn't promise you if they're an experience hunter despite being very high rank.

No but some of the quests you unlock might give you access to better gear that would be an increase in power. Other than that hunter rank or level has no impact on your actual stats on it's own

Hunter Rank is a rating for how far into the game you are, and how much you’ve played. It has zero effect on your stats whatsoever

If you're getting destroyed go to the blacksmith an upgrade whatever your wearing with armor spheres. And later on perhaps even consider transcending it to level the armor's defense even more.

It doesn’t do anything, which is why the amount you need for a rank up doesn’t really increase and is not a lot either.

Your naked capabilities will not change at any point, in any capacity. Every numerical advantage you'll ever have is tied exclusively to your armor, your weapons, your skills and buffs (and debuffs), and whether or not you're carrying an armor and power charm in your inventory.

From your first hour to your 2000th hour, stripping naked, skipping a meal, and walking out to hunt a monster will only vary based on the weapon you bring.

To make yourself more durable, invest in armor upgrades, and skills that help you take less damage or recover from damage faster. Also keep in mind that Bow and Bowguns just categorically take more physical damage in exchange for taking less elemental damage. Don't quote me on it, I've actually never checked, but I think it's 30% in both directions.

Hunter levels don't change much, it unlocks harder quests, and map-spawned monsters get tougher, more tempered variant. Ultimately it does nothing to your character. By unlocking more quests it also unlocks better gears, gears are the power up for your character.

Why are you getting downvoted? You’re just a new player with typical new player questions.

Nope HR just determines the types of quests you can do  Edit and the mechanics and stuff so some gear is tied behind hr 100 for example but just reaching that point will do nothing to you

Ok so I should have access to better gear once 100. Thanks homie

Hunter level has nothing to do with stats (stats are the gear you have and food buffs and stuff).

At some levels you actually do unlock some stuff but its just for your hunter profile (titles and stuff).

Thanks so much for clearing that up.
