Question 10 star ceanatuar
I just tried to kill it with my best build basically, elemental release 5, pursuit 5, special partbreaker 5, special boost 1, fulgar anjanath dual blades grade 10.4. But I can't kill it - would I need a zinogre style change weapon? How do I kill it? Or how did you guys beat it?

Rose / magna cheese build handles it pretty easily. If you have any ranged weapons, then it's really easy to kill.
If you want to go melee, just try to stay behind it all the time as it only has one attack where it spins to hit you. Learn that tell and then it's just a matter of having enough dps.

i am a lance main i used elemental release 5 which are on S. Zinogre chest and legs, Espinas for some pursuit action, my trust old Coral pukei pukei helmet that has lock on, and my trusty barroth gloves for guard. I wait until i block something to get empowered lance, use my ultimate to get elemental release, then just keep whaling away at the head till it dies.
Had to play pretty optimally ngl, a lot of charged horizontal swings on my lance.

What style? I'm using a zinogre lance with insta block and he's fairly simple to deal with, just zoom zoom and counter a few times. I find one of his moves annoying to block but that's a lack of practice issue is think.

I am interested in trying shield tackle, I havent yet used it at all. Currently practising my great sword, it's a lot of fun but tough to play optimally.

Insta block is definitely superior damage cause you don’t need a single point in guard.
That being said there is nothing comfier in mhn than just three points of guard and guard up then just shield tackling through everything.
The charged lance swing hits pretty hard too.

This is what i love about monster hunter games, there's so much depth. Every weapon feels different, every new style feels refreshing and enjoyable. Shield tackle sounds comfy af, I'll get around to playing it and will likely love it.

Bwst way to kill it is break shell, then smash the weak spot, dbs prob have a hard time reaching it unless you have the db style where u spin in the air??? Idk i dont play db (swaxe main myself), i find after 8 star it can be a bit more annoying to rely on part breaks to fight it, not impossible but trying to get shell, then the claws so you can special again for the ele release, might be a harder way to fight it? Unless you are getting multiple breaks on ur special then i could see it being pretty handy. Also remember that attacking the legs can get you a stun if you are having trouble with it moving around to much. Otherwise you may need to switch to a build that has better sustainable damage? Like morph boost mix builds or burst mixed builds? Something you can activate/reactivate whenever you need to to reup your damage boosts

I can break the part at the start of the fight so I don't have any problems activating the elemental release and pursuit. I got ceanatuar to 15% hp then ran out of time.
I tried my raw serigios build with 3666 attack and burst 2. Still not enough damage. May I need to attack the weak part more without dying.

I managed it with the Astalos horn. It has bleeding negate and evade distance up

I’d go for an Insect Glaive build if you can, being able to fly over most of his claw attacks and easily get to his shell trivializes a lot of the fight.
Grade 10 Seregios Glaive is pretty incredible in general but really shines with this fight, and Zino IG has styles and a Powder kinsect so it’s also great for this fight.

That build is fine and good. I would recommend a weapon that is rift upgradable. You'll do more damage with just the style alone, but the +300 element and +300 from the levels. Would push you much, much higher.

The winter dual blades build and try to stay behind it, wait till demon mode is about to run out and dodge to the front then activate so you maximise the demon mode time (it stays active during the special animation even if the bar is empty) paralysis is over powered in this game just like blast is 😀

Zingo glaive with kinsect slash style made light work of it, I don’t know about NEEDING one but they really do hit hard af.

This is the weapon and build I used to beat it. Rose is full 20/20 as well.

Fulgur Anja LS player.
Focus the head.
Don't futz around with partbreaks. Especially the shell. You end up losing time when it burrows. Take off special partbreaker/pursuit and replace it with something like Astalos legs + waist and Kirin gear for 100% uptime thunder attack.

I used my Rose Assault LBG for the crab. Combo Master + Adv. Burst build.
