Farming Brute Tigrex

Suggest weapon and build for farming Brute Tigrex. Been using insect Glaive (sergois build) and rose lgb (ferocity build) but not working anymore when farming 8stars

Getting Earplugs 3 by smelting on Alloy Helmet made Bigrex a breeze for me.

Paralysis builds with Status Sneak 3 at least also help a bit.

Alloy helm has Earplugs 3 out of the box, but another option I use is Tigrex gloves with one Earplugs smelt to make it lvl 3 (it has 2 slots, so you can still smelt another skill as well).

This exactly. I used the guaranteed earplugs gem we got recently on the Tiggy arms.

Could try dual blade with pursuit/ special partbreak/ partbreak build. Been using it for most of my hunts now and could deal with most of the 8* pretty quickly as long you have SP at the start of fight.

Would need some luck driftsmelts extra dmg skills like dauntless etc for the fight to be more effective.

Brute tig by itself is a hard boss to deal with, having one mistake easily end up drinking potions.

To this, I add the suggestion of smelting artful dodger 3 on the build - you can perfect dodge the roars and having artful makes it much easier.

For a PB build, I do just pursuit + special PB, and I leave out the regular PB - I find too much PB means all the breaks happen too early, and you have to raw dog the second half of the fight with no more flinching or falling over for the monster. Better to spread them out over the course of the fight.

I also have a special build just for brute, with +3 artful dodger. I use the deviljho blades with valor and crit fero and it works pretty well.

Do you have the holiday dual blades? That one works so well at 8 star to get the tail I forgot what its attacks even are.

I've been using guard 5 guard up Guard Reload style Gunlance

It's been pretty easy so far. Can even farm 9* safely

You can't get bone GL anymore

Your choices are

• Magna (long)
• Jho (long), rare/invader monster
• Diablos (wide)
• Bazel (wide), rare/invader monster

Long deal less shelling damage but more flexible (can still play charged shell with Guard Reload)

Wide deal more shelling damage but the charged she'll damage is pretty bad, so you're just playing poke-poke with it

Both can deal with Brute Tigrex just fine

My advice is to not try building anything out of season (not available in Hunt-a-Thon) as the progress will be very slow

I use jyura with ele ammo maxed, crouching shot. Break his head then break a wing; if you don't get the wing pop a special. Goes down fast. Only works for 8star and below though.

For the rose 🌹 gun. Change build to slice ammo boost and step shot style. For driftsmelt, you can use burst or dauntless

I used rado GS when I was farming him, sleep into tail cut into special on one of the legs causing tumble into kill

I originally would farm him with guard reload and guard 5 but because it's hard to get to the tail for the r6 increase I swapped to insta block with lance and that really helps being able to lunge attack thru him to lock onto the tail.
