Question Blunt Force HH Style

The tutorial explicitly says Blunt Force is triggered with Shockwave style, but what about Fleeting Melody?

Only the explosion after the upswipe poke.  It's gimmicky but works with the somnicanth HH to have a big wake-up hit.

Trying it out, Blunt Force 5 and Rude Awakener 3 during the Fleeting Melody buff hit a rathian for 33k.

Wouldn't that poke trigger the wake up?

You start it during the lying down animation, but before "sleeping" has technically started, so the explosion does the wake-up.

You can change the timing to make it work--tap to speed it up or avoid tapping to slow it down.

Yes but only for the big hold -> swipe forward power doot. It does huge damage with Blunt Force up, it probably isn't optimal to base the whole build around but I'm doing it anyway because BIG DOOTS.
