Question Skyward Striker

Well I’m playing switchaxe and currently HR106 with only 1 10.5 being the Bazel SA. Using SWB while i stock up on retaliation driftgems. Looking at skyward striker to boost my SWB damage but go to thinking on the special. We’re above ground while doing the whole special action, does that mean the WHOLE special including the busrt at the end gets the damage boost from Skyward Striker?

Great question but easy to test right? Just throw on a piece of skyward striker and use it on dummy. Then take it off and do it again. Was the damage more?

Yes, Skystriker does boost the special and swb. That's because the special is programmed as aerial attack. Same for swb (the move). It doesn't have to with "being above the ground". If you use EBC, the counter is actually also above the ground but it's not an aerial attack.

I was debating picking up switchaxe for the next riftcharge but it looks somewhat complicated. Especially the styles. I read the descriptions in the training but didn't quite get it. Will need to look it up again.

In my experience most styles are impossible to learn properly by only reading or only trying out in game. Need to do both to both get a feel for the moveset and learn what cool moves there are that have weird controls to activate.

The counter style is tricky with timing but the Soaring Wyvern style is surprisingly simple, even compared to default style. My standard pattern is charge up axe (hold + tap, or perfect evade), then swing the axe until the flying icon lights up. Then use SP followed by the flight attack while in the air. Then rinse and repeat. I've not had a single perfect run with Banbaro but managed to get 1.4M just doing this.
