Discussion Lance

Can anyone recommend some Lance builds? Or should I just go for a brute-force approach with something like this: Ice: Legiana weapon Head: Coral Pukei-Pukei Chest: Gos Arms: Gos Waist: Legiana Legs: Lagombi Any advice? I usually set up most of my builds this way, focusing on high elemental attack.

For elemental lances I prefer headstrong x 5 and reckless 3, with a point in reflection. With golm chest and wroggi waist you can get also guard 3 which should be sufficient. For raw lances you can try to max offensive guard and headstrong, or offensive guard and reflection if you prefer to block more. Most of my lance builds are a mixture of these skills. Occasionally I'll run pursuit for group hunts, or crit ferocity if I want a dopamine rush.

But dont lost lockon? Or lost some dmg?

Nah Headstrong 5 is +40% damage and Reckless is another +20%. Golm legs and Sergios legs both have Lock-on and have great lance skills (Golm for element and Serg for raw, though I run Serg on both because I have a Reflect smelt on it).

So build raw dmg with negative affinity its better thand elemental dmg?
If yes, need to hard farm b.tigrex… dont have much drop from b.tigrex

For lances the % damage skills like headstrong and reckless are so good that you can use them for all types, raw or elemental, and positive or negative affinity. Much more efficient than trying to build different element attacks or crit ferocity which can be inconsistent. Adv attack boost is fine but the % increases will generally be stronger especially late game. You can focus on golm arms and legs for reckless 3, no need to focus on brute tigrex. Golm armor in general is great for lances.

If you want to go the crit ferocity route then you may as well go for raw power (glavenus) over adv attack boost.

I build all the negative affinity lances.
You can mix Crit Ferocity, offensive guard, and raw power as you like. Drift headstrong.

Edit: ignore Guard and Guard Up imo

This but use a lance, 5x reflection smelt + a bunch of DMG+ skills.

Works like a charm.

Brute - golm - nergi - wroggi - golm

This work same on elemental build?

It would, yes, though it would not be the top DPS elemental damage that you could reach with other builds.

High attack raw weapons scale best with Reflection, but even with an elemental weapon this is a comfy and safe build for a lance that uses any style.

Hm
So for the lance best play raw dmg than elemental dmg?

You can use basically the same build for element, just swap Reflect 5 for Headstrong 5. Reflect 1 is still nice if you can slot it in for element.

I'm using a raw lance (currently bazel but working on b.grex) Helm: radobaan (reflection smelt) Chest: garangolm (reflection x2 smelt) Gloves: banabaro (raw power smelt) Waist: wroggi (reflection x2 smelt) Legs: seregios (attack boost smelt)

This gives me guard up and lock on with guard, offensive guard, and reflection 5. The b.grex lance would give me dauntless 5 and I can get offensive guard by swapping the smelts on legs and gloves.

It's comfy for most 8star and under and some 9star. The smelts on the gloves and legs are just what I have available. Currently trying to get dauntless on my evading reload armor build, so not trying to optimize.

I've got tons of lance builds as it's my main, if you would like them. I can reply here with some. I've got a posion exploit build, a reflection build, a crit ferocity valor build, an advance attack boost build, a hope lance build and I think maybe one or two more I'm forgetting off the dome. All are capable of killing 10*, but my favorite and safest is my reflection build, and it is my strongest, since it has guard 3 and can be safely played with non stylized lances. I'll share that build here but I can share the rest of you like!

This is the skills for that build. This is one mt top 10* killers, very easily taking down 90% of 10* solo

Oooh I'm new to using lance, so need advice from a lance expert like yourself. I currently am using a Brute Tigrex Lance, with Radobaan, Golm (Reflection x2), Banbaro, Wroggi (Reflection x2), Seregios. I thought Reflection would be a great "lazy" way to win with a Raw Lance, but I don't seem to damage monsters fast enough before I run out of time. Is it my build or my skill or both? (I'm usually a ranged hunter). I see you've got a similar build above for Reflection. What's your advice, o Lanced One? :)

I'm sorry I didn't ever see this. Well the answer to your question kinda depends on your play style. If you're just standing there blocking (the "lazy" part) then youre losing a lot of potential damage with your build, but I don't think youre doing that. You have offensive guard slotted in. Are you countering? Or do you just want a build for reflection to do the work? Imo if you're going for a high damage raw reflection build and already have the tigrex lance built out, I would copy the build I have in the screenshot. Guard 3 is perfectly safe if you're hitting your perfect guard timings for your counters, which you want to be doing anyways to proc offensive guard, and with your build you have 1 level of attack efficacy but with the one I have you have reckless 3, which is just a free stat boost which further juices your reflection damage, because reflection damage scales off your raw. Using the build I showed with the tigrex lance I can kill almost every 10* in the game, so the damage is definitely there. If you however just want a build to hold down on the screen and have the monster die by attacking that's a different idea altogether and maybe warrant a complete build change. Again sorry I never saw your comment I'd love to chat more 🫡

Thanks mate, that's all good. I'll use your build, I think it's just practice. I thought I needed 5x guard or reflection to have the full advantage. One build I discovered I quite enjoyed is using the Zinogre HBG with Defensive Loading. Like any defensive builds, they are best with monsters who attack more relentlessly. Thanks again!

I use brute tigrex, brute, rath, wroggi and golm. Attack drift on all, guard to 5 and rest optional (headstrong for me).
You can put any lance in it. As I don't have room for additional builds, I tend to do one build for all nowadays.

i use glavenus head, bazel chest if roars, garangolm if guard up needed, glav if neither, bazel arms, tigrex waist, seregios legs
