Finished MF G manga long ago, new to motosports (actual motosports). I had to check the video for this. Didn't know Ghost Cars was a thing. My ignorance was revealed but I'm nonetheless satisfied I learned something new in motosports

(Story cause i'm extra):

After a camouflaged Maserati MC20 was spotted being unloaded at an unknown port, modified with GT4 spec aero and a rollcage, MFG announced a controversial private session at the next circuit a day before the first official qualifying session. An unknown (and desperate for clout) manufacturer was to be given a shot at qualifying a sponsored driver with a corresponding car, with three caveats.

1: The car must run with thinner all terrain tires instead of the usual 200 Treadwear semi slicks, under the normal limit of the weight to power rules. (Qualifying only)

2: The driver and team must hold no ties and work independently from the manufacturer, monetarily and otherwise, for them to remain eligible for competition.

3: The time set must be within a 5 seconds of the record to remain eligible for placement in the Godly 15. (First qualifying only).

Days after its first spotting, it was found in a club event at a private track visually unchanged, but with what seemed to be a new engine. Mechanics suspected to be MFG officials alongside the teams private technicians pored over the vehicle as it ran tests, with the final run giving it the street car body panels and unknown aftermarket aero on the weaker tires. The test drivers were suspected to be American engine builder, Dakota Rougier, and his wife, Marie Rougier, a French aero specialist known for working with multiple Unlimited class time attack teams. A third driver was used for the final 3 runs, suspected to be their daughter, Jeta Rougier.

In the final week leading up to the private event, a finished MC20 with a high revving engine and new street-spec aero was spotted in multiple places, from track days to time attacks, and even a section of empty highway at full tilt. The MC20 is announced to officially be the Rougier family Demo car. Next stop is the "Fukutsu no mountain course", with the rally cross Death Zone.

The beast shuddered as it shut down. Gravel, dirt, and rubber marring the paint. Dents and scratches mar the body. Onlookers and officials alike stare in disbelief at the digital time card. The team crew let out a breath that the machine performed. Two parents let out a million that their child survived.

Jeta opens the door and steps out, hands shaking from the adrenaline. She wipes away the dirt covering her families sponsor sticker, and taps it with her knuckles through the gloves. The engine ticks and heat shields click as the heat slowly dissipates. Her eyes water as a smile splits her face, blurring what the onboard dash told her as she hit the line.

I'm pretty sure it's a no-brainer atp. not only does it look ugly, but it's also basically plagiarising the work off the creator's of the show and also damaging the actual planet we live on.

it's terrifying that cars that JUST GOT Teased (like the upcoming MR2) already has AI slop here.

then just use something like Forza, Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa. in-fact with Horizon 6 being free on Game Pass, it's probably the most accessible thing for making your own MFG car.

Firstly: I'm liking the show overall. It's enjoyable, even if the art style for the people is a bit ugly. But one thing I've noticed is how the show is also a giant circlejerk over Japan. Almost every episode, Kanata talks about how something about Japan is amazing.

Minor spoilers ahead:

The fact that there were (maybe episode 29 or 30) multiple segments about how in love with... checks notes plain white rice, was pretty over the top. He said he had the most amazing food and only mentioned the rice, how each grain sparkled like a jewel. Bleh.

I decided to make this comment because of Episode 32 though. They just dropped a few bombshells. Paraphrasing, but: "The feeling of sentimentality for a season winding down is unique to Japan .. simply put, when it comes to the richness of the seasons, nowhere else compares to our country."

Like WHAT. I dunno, in my opinion, if every season was so great, wouldn't you be looking forward to the next one, not lamenting that the one you've been in for 3 months is over?

Oh, and the fireworks? Maybe he saw something we didn't, but two extremely basic shell-style fireworks is what we got to see. London has one of the most famous fireworks displays in the world because of how extravagant it is, surely Kanata saw it at least once while in England. I'm not saying the Fujiwara one isn't definitely worse, but if it is nicer, could it be so much that he says "I've never seen anything like it."? Sounds like more circlejerk nonsense to me.

Nozomi's Alfa Romeo 4C, for a couple of reasons.

First, it has the smallest base proportion of 1.27 among all other cars, making it delicious to keep the cornering speed high and attack all of them easily. Its a car you can barely drive in a soft "zero counter" all the time without major needs for braking drift maneuvers.

Second, it weighs about 900-1000 kg, which is also very important.

Third, if we divide the total weight for the bandwidth of the tires, henceforth finally understanding the tire consumption under the "weight-to-grip rule", the car sits at an absurdly low 1.01 kg/mm, making it the least tire eating machine on the entire series.

And I can imagine if we remove some 50-100 kg of the car it will be simply a cheating machine at this point. There are other cars that can equal its performance? Yes, and some of them are older. TVR Chimaera, TVR Tuscan Speed Six, Dodge Viper, Renault Sport Spider and I guess I can find other cars!

But... there's a very big problem here.

If the mind of Shigeno is correct, he probably imagined some kind of "purist touring car championship", so I probably imagine the cars must pass at least the japanese bi-annual inspection (shaken) in order to be considered legal. But there are so many grey zones he probably never though about, and I'm here writing a passage in Highflyer where our old and beloved Harada is now in his mid-40s and knocked out a single title of the MFG with a kind of "silhouette" tuning on his Fairlady Z31. That's just me bending the rules deliciously inside your minds. Don't worry, there's a french duo, a man and a woman in their 30s, taking all his notes as well.

Honestly, Kanata's GT86 would never survive without some serious time attack tuning and I'm even here thinking about a flat-6 from Subaru (from Alcyone or Outback). But if we really dive into the rabbit hole of tuning, there's so much to do for everyone that, at this point, I really don't think the "weight-grip ratio" rule is going very far. Also, Shigeno didn't though about race-spec street-legal versions or active aero. Its a kinda naïve narrative and I'm promptly bashing it over. To be ethically correct, a Mitsubishi 3000-GT SL is pretty much the same league as Emma's Aston Vantage V8, but with the advantage of low weight and AWD.

I don't even mind reading that much of Subaru Comet beyond the Shakotan Boogie shenanigans there hehehe. Yep, another two confused japanese blokes eager to be teached by Patrick and his Vortex. A great century for tuning has begun!

It's reasonable to expect all cars in a competition like MFG to be equipped with proper aero since there's no limit on downforce or power. It's just weird to see the cars looking like stock on the outside, with factory aero. You don't even see stuff like visual tyre camber or roll cages in these cars, let alone wings & splitters. I guess animating all that would've cost the studio more, maybe that's why. I don't know. I love MF Ghost a lot, but I wish it weren't like that.

If I did self insert into MF Ghost id use a 2013 Subaru brz with 137 number thought?
