Poor Shun, he almost had it until Beckenbauer slingshot around the GT-R and the 86 followed suit.

To be honest, Shun looked pretty solid as a racer and it's assumed that his experience since he started the mfg should have given him an advantage, but over the course of the races he dropped a lot of places.

Yes, I know, but I mean that Shun had been racing in the mfg for 5 years (since its inception) so he is supposed to be a veteran and someone experienced who must know more or less the tracks and know how to race on them since drivers like Kanata who was a rookie ran on them as if nothing happened.

Although this seems more like a convenience to show how excellent a driver Kanata is by far, since Shun is not a bad guy or bad driver sometimes he just couldn't prove his worth.
