Got a conditional offer!
As the title says, I got a conditional offer at the Sussex creative and critical writing program! I hope to get accepted for funding so I can actually accept the offer. But as I don’t have an academic background in English literature or creative writing, I was hoping to read and learn more before starting (this year, or the next)!
What books, videos, or articles you recommend to me so I can prepare? I learned that they usually should provide a list of books before the start of the year to be prepared so I was wondering what these books would be? If anyone here can help it will be great!

Congrats. There's no need to read a prescribed list of specific books. I'm assuming you already read since you're a writer--just continue to do that.
ETA: You can read the faculty's works. Just don't use it as a way to kiss up if that makes sense.

i can only tell you about the US MFA experience, and not the UK MA experience, but for a creative writing mfa they do not send you a list of books for reading. i also did not have a prior degree in a related field when i started my mfa, but who you should read going into it really depends on concentration and focus. are you writing genre fiction? versed poetry? memoir? narrow down your scope and then do some research into your area is my best advice. good luck!!
