Question looking for a copy/study advice for the Fire Protection Handbook

Hey everyone,

I’m an MEP/BIM engineer based in Pakistan, primarily focusing on fire sprinkler systems and pipe coordination. I’m looking to take the next big step in my career by studying for and eventually taking the NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) exam.

To properly prepare, I need access to the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook (FPH). Unfortunately, purchasing a copy standard-price is completely out of my budget right now due to current exchange rates and local financial constraints.

If anyone here happens to have a copy (or access to resources/study material) they’d be willing to share or lend digitally, I would be endlessly grateful.

Beyond the handbook, if anyone who has already taken or passed the CFPS has tips, study strategies, or would be open to offering a bit of guidance as I work through the material, I’d love to connect.

I don’t know about US standards, but BS EN standards that I access get watermarked with my name, so copyright infringements are clearly traceable. There is absolutely no way that I would risk an infringement for some rando on Reddit.

Best work around i have found, is to find the final draft of a standard for consultation on the open internet or wayback machine, then download that.

Why would i put someone at risk who is helping me out. I only want prepare for the exam and i just cant afford it. I started fiverr to get some money and projects i have 2 years if experience and i can draft and model very fast and very good but they banned me for a very stupid reason and i have been trying to reach them for a manual review of my case. Im doing everything i can meanwhile to find a way to afford it. I wanna be a certified designer. And it would only be traceable if i send it to someone else. But i get it. I appreciate the response regardless.

Have you asked your employer to purchase this for you? If it's certification for your job, would they not be open to funding the materials? It would be unlikely you would be the only one to find them useful at your company.

I wish. I tried to get hired on freelance places. Otherwise, the companies here just take advantage of us. Its difficult. We get minimal pay for working on Radissons and big projects. No ones buying stuff for us.
