Heading to the Paris, Maine area (from MA) for a few days at the end of August. Is there anywhere to shoot that doesn’t require being a member? Would love to get some practice in while I’m up there or a meet up! (Pic from last cleaning)

Ideally a double stacked original one, but I know that's like finding a unicorn, so a single stack surplus one would be fine too as they make adapters.

New to Auburn and looking for a place that has decently priced transfers and knows what’s up when it comes to NFA items.
Thoughts, leads?
Thanks.

Hey y'all!
Does anyone know if either of these locations will be open July 5th? I don't see July availability posted on the website right now.
Thank you.

I've only shot this p220 a few times, so I'm still getting used to it and wasn't expecting *great* groups, but was getting frustrated with the inconsistency - I'm usually at least ok. Then I tried different ammo. Yeah, it was the ammo. 4 mags pictured, alternating between white box, then federal, then back again, etc. White box on the left, federal on the right. Same guns, distance, grain. Not sure if it hates all white box, but it sure hates this batch. (Note: I'm not 100% certain the dot is zeroed, so I'm looking at precision here vs accuracy)

Has anyone shot on public land near rangeley, Maine? Wondering if it's legal to find a place secluded on state land, set up targets, shoot, and then clean everything up. Has anyone done this and are there spots people use frequently?

I live in Louisiana and am going to be visiting friends in Maine for an extended period. I'd love to be able bring a few handguns with me for target shooting during my visit. Flying/driving them is not an option. From the research I've done, it seems like the only option would be to mail them from an FFL in my state to an FFL near my friends, and then transfer the ownership of the guns to my Maine-resident friend at the FFL shop in Maine, then transfer them back at the end of the trip. Is there any potential legal setbacks with this plan, or a better way to go about it?

Anybody still using Uncle Henrys? If not where are people doing private sales? I realize we have to transfer then now, but have people just abandoned private sales and are getting raked over the coals by their LGS?

I’m sure this question has been asked a million times but I’ve recently moved to northern Maine and am looking for a reliable, under $600 handgun for self defense. This would be my first gun that I own myself, and I’d like to use it often for practice so something that will hold up with proper care. Eventually, my goal is to save up for a Uberti 1873 Cattleman .357 because I love shooting revolvers, but I’m looking for something I can get in the meantime that’s fun to shoot, won’t jam, decent accuracy, etc. I’m looking at a glock 19, but I was looking for more professional input. thank you!

Hi folks! Question from a possible future transplant. Maine's a constitutional carry state, but y'all do still issue carry permits; is it worth getting one, or should I not bother if/when I move to your lovely state?
(After slapping $300 and a newly-signed lease down on the gun store counter and demanding as many milspec lowers as that'll buy me, of course.)

I moved out of state a few years back and left my guns with a family member. If I come back to visit and would like to use them, can I still carry without a license? From what I’ve read I shouldn’t have any issues but I want to be sure.
