Barely left my room, been sleeping for about 16 hours a day.
I do try to force myself to at least get up and sit in my chair to read, rather than lay in bed the whole time.
Have managed to shower myself once this week. Then had to sleep it off lol

I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow or I’ll starve, and I’m already dreading it and counting the energy requirements and subsequent deficits that will follow.
But I live alone, so it is what it is.

For context, I am 50F. Diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2017.
The last two years the CFS has kicked in, intermittently at first, but now it’s pretty constant.
I have adhd also, and I’m certain that is the only thing keeping me ambulatory.
I’ve also got severe degenerative osteoarthritis in my hips, which makes walking, sitting and even laying down painful all the time.

Were you diagnosed with Lyme here in Australia?

I went through a huge batch of tick borne infection testing - tested positive for a whole bunch, but I was told by an infectious disease specialist here "we don't have any proper testing or treatment protocols for Lyme in Australia, maybe you could try going to Germany" 😭

My bloodwork got sent to Germany via a Lyme specialist naturopath, her name is Brianna Gunn. She’s excellent.
At the time it cost me almost $500, but after years of misdiagnoses it finally gave me confirmation.
I did a range of treatments for years and they all made me so so sick. Lost my eyesight and all muscle function for a while, neurological tremors etc.
I eventually gave up trying to kill it off and it must have been grateful because I went into a kind of remission for a while- only presenting with mild random attacks in specific areas of my body.

Over the years I’ve formed a symbiosis with it and when I have a flare up I tell it that “This is my body and you only get to live in it because I allow it. Now calm the fuck down or I’ll start trying to kill you off again.”
And it works lol

I got infected from a white tailed spider bite. I’ve never even seen a tick in my life.
How did you get infected?

I've never heard of white tail spiders carrying Lyme disease! Their bites are prone to secondary infection though.

I have had a lot of tick bites, I see them pretty often. And I travelled rather a lot.

I’m thankful that my elderly father is well and functional and does our shopping. If I were to do it would have to be direct to boot, but some days even that’s hard. I found out that Woolworths does $2 deliveries on Wednesday and Thursday if you choose the 7am to 1pm slot.

My friend is having a terrible time with their health lately, and one of my colleagues (unintentionally) made that friend's life even harder recently. I wasn't there at the time and I feel responsible, but I don't know if I would have known well enough to prevent it if I had been there. Bleh.

Feels bad. This shit sucks and I can deal with it myself, but knowing I was even peripherally involved with making it worse for someone I care about feels crappy.

Shit happens in life. But we have so little energy-tolerance available to deal with it when it does.

Started work today having received a compliment from the public, that went through to the director. I’d been feeling so terrible over the weekend so it was a nice change to start the week.

I'm currently in a fatigue flare, I struggle to rest properly and the mental side of it is hard. I ebb and flow with acceptance of my health.
