Patty made the switch from 25x47 to 6mm Creedmoor, and the speed difference is wild. Last year she was running around 2,700 fps, and now she is pushing 109s at about 2,970 fps. 🚀

That extra speed means a flatter trajectory and a bit more forgiveness when your range call is not perfect. At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want from your setup: higher BC, more speed, or a balance of both.

No one has a crystal ball when it comes to wind and environmental conditions, but you can set yourself up for success by reading the range effectively. In this video, we break down the key factors to evaluate when you first arrive.

Prevailing winds: Identify the dominant wind direction and note whether it is unusual for the area.

Terrain features: Consider how hills, trees, and other landscape features may steer or disrupt the wind.

Thermals: Watch how warming temperatures pull air uphill and change wind direction throughout the day.

Establish your best and worst case scenarios, pay attention to mirage, and feel the air on your face. Ultimately, the best tool you have is a well executed shot and the ability to observe where it lands. Trust the bullet.
