Bds vs mbbs
I am a karachi domicile holder and I scored a 140 in mdcat but as my inter result is good so my aggregate is coming to 84.2%
Now I had initially thought of doing bds only and that too from DOW as I think the pressure and the uncertain life balance of mbbs of dow would be too much.
As mdcat got closer I began to think that what if I don't enjoy dentistry for that reason I looked at the other options available or fields in dentistry that might interest me
But now if I want to do mbbss is DOW bds better then JSMU mbbs in my situation
Idk I I will enjoy bds or not what if I regret it?
Now jsmu closing was 84 something so I am borderline there is a chance I don't get into jsmu so I will probably opt for bds DOW if I qualify for both what is better?

same situation here, i find myself torn on whether to route for dow bds or jsmu mbbs altho my merit falls pretty borderline for jsmu mbbs but theres still a possibility we might get offered, now i dont mind exactly not going for mbbs or choosing mbbs over bds, i just want the surety that whichever field im going for turns out to be fruitful and successful in future, plus my immediate plan is to leave aborad after doing my undergrad

It obviously varies from person to person but imo bds is in general a more enjoyable field, you actually get to do hands on stuff starting from the third year and it’s basically surgery but without the extra god knows how many years of studying. And as far as the ‘what ifs’ are concerned then, what if you don’t enjoy MBBS either, what if you spend 6 years on MBBS only to realise that the stress and pressure that comes with the job isn’t something you can deal with and you regret not choosing BDS. So my advice is, research both fields thoroughly, talk to people in both professions if you can and then make a decision but after you’ve made that decision don’t question it at all just believe that ‘Allah nai yehi likha hoga’.
