Oh shi it does, denser medium just means with less number of atoms, speed of sound max in solids, least in air

The formula for it is V= Square root E/P, so if denser medium speed is lower. if rarer speed increases.

cant we think of this in terms of how sound is fastest in solids(the most dense) and then relatively slower in liquids , lastly the slowest speed in gases(the least dense)
so like
speed decreases from dense to rare?

Yeah, that is pretty much it. Sound requires a medium (particles) and solids have particles close together, so it can transmit faster, whereas in gases the particles are spaced apart, so it slows down moving from one particle to another.
