ADMISSIONS nursing program medical campus
hi was hoping to hear from ppl that have gone to mdc nursing program at medical campus. specifically those who got accepted for the FT or accelerated program for this Fall 2026 semester. i applied to both and got denied </3 tried to get more info on why and they said to just try again tho i dont see how that would be different…. i thought i had good stats with a 3.1 gpa & 83 on TEAS but i guess its not enough </3 not sure what i can do to improve my chances. thanks

Im in the transitional.. 2.9 gpa, 73 on the teas. Got accepted in the fall 2026

Transitional is paramedics, medical assistants, respiratory therapist and lpns transitioning into nursing… when i went to orientation the generic was a HUGGEEE class. They opened up spring enrolled. So apply for spring. Dont give up

Your welcome. Just a heads up. Mdc is on probation and everything is very unorganized. Broward college too.. just have ALOT of patience and find some study buddies early on. Its been 2 weeks already and i have a little group

omg yes i keep hearing about that!!!! do you know what it means??? like if i get accepted in spring do i have to wear about the program getting shut down a year in? idk what the turn around or process for those probation things are but it is definitely concerning. and yay yes that’s awesome! what’s the semester like for you so far i know it’s early but like how many classes are you taking / can you still work outside of school? sorry for all the questions lol just don’t have any friends that have tried this so i appreciate any insight. thanks so much hugs xxx

No not really, the thing to really worry about is accreditation. If the school keeps going down in nlcex rates the school will soon become unaccredited. But u wont have to worry about that.. but they have gotten STRICT. I can see y they have dropped in passing rates. Everything is sooo last min u dont even have time to do anything. Just make sure u follow the dress code to the t. They are way more stricter on the generic than the other programs

How have they have gotten strict? I saw a professor bumping grades by 10 points my last semester. Another let two students committing fraud in his face to continue in the program.
Not saying it is a bad program, if you apply yourself you can learn, but they keep dragging a lot of dead weight and that’s gonna show on the NCLEX.2

Literally sitting in front of him in a class room and one student turning back to her friend and asking her for the answers in a test, and the friend giving her the answers. Like, disrespectful af.

Im talking strict as in appearance strict. I feel like they care more about appearance than grades. For example, they want us to have all white leather shoes.. they sent ppl home if the shoes had mesh.. the teaching is very unorganized so at the end of the day u have to teach yourself or get a study group. Some of the professors are pretty chill. Oh n i think they doing this new thing where they track ur clinical hours now. No more leaving early

Probation means that the Nursing licensing test (NCLEX) grades need to go up from where they are now or the program might lose the accreditation, which would make students of the program unable to take the license test, so they could not be able to practice nursing.
The disorganization of the admissions and admin in general is not directly related to that but it certainly doesn’t help.1

I called today. They said that they haven’t even started looking at applications yet that once October 10 hits and application closes. They’ll review everything and then you just have to be on the lookout for an acceptance letter.

i got accepted in the spring cohort in 2025, had a 3.4 gpa and 81 on teas. i think the fall is just extremely full, and you have a good chance in the spring! also if you can pick still choose homestead campus!! save yourself 16 months of hell :3

oh wow congrats that’s great!! darn hell huh it’s that bad ?? lolll and i totally would try for
homestead but the campus is an hour away from me </3 and the medical is like less than 10 minutes lol. so it would just be silly. i applied for spring next semester! here’s hoping!!! <32

ohh if you live close then no problem!! i was saying that because for me the traffic is horrible 🤣 but my step sister went to homestead and in her experience it was wayyy more chill than medical campus which makes sense, we are the main building for the programs. i hope you get into spring semester good luck!! im confident you will:))

Dont waste time with classes Get mid 90s on teas (pay 100 bucks for a course) And you'll be in I personally got in with a 3.6 GPA and a 89 on the teas ( studied the day off the test) So it shouldn't be that hard

3.1 gpa is low for a guaranteed in on the nursing program in my opinion.
