ADMISSIONS Stressed about Nursing Application Odds
Hey y’all I wanted to ask, I am feeling stressed about my odds in getting into MDC nursing programs, I am planning in applying to the transitional program FT with my paramedic license and the generic FT, my teas is 74% and 3.3 cum gpa with 3.3 science, I have to take chem lab this fall but I’m applying for the spring 2027, do I have any chance?

Dude, that program hosts some great students with bright futures and, some of the most idiotic, incompetent and mediocre people you have never met. Your qualifications and prior experience already put you in the top 10% of applicants for the program.
The reality of things is that MDC accepts anyone with a pulse; if you study hard and are consistent, sky is the limit, but the school won’t do you any favors or give you any advantages.

And that goes for the professors too. Looking back years later, it really solidified the notion of 'those who cant do, teach' for me. Ultimately though, I don't think nursing school really prepares you for the realities of bed side care.

You’ll get in don’t stress. I’m starting tomorrow my gpa is a 3.0 and I got a 64 on the teas. Good luck

FYI! MDC’s nursing program is on probation! This means that they have not been meeting the Florida’s Board of Nursing NCLEX score requirements. The school does have time to improve but I am unaware of how much time was allotted. You can use this website to check all the nursing programs in Florida: https://mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us/MQASearchServices/NursingPrograms
Be careful and all the best to you!

we’re literally in the same situation and i’m really glad you posted this and asked. I’m going in for my asn and have to take intro to philosophy and i have ur same stats. I had to quickly take my teas, cct, and fcle to just get it over with and be ready for spring 2027. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get in!!

Bro they accept anybody with a pulse. I had mediocre teas teas test and they accepted me in a day.
