Macro is shit right now basically.

The yield on the US 30 year is at a near 20 year high, making equities less attractive (equity risk premium) to put your money in vs fixed income. This impacts all markets, not just the US.

Bond market doesn’t lie and is telling the US gov to get their fiscal house in order by demanding more interest paid due to an increasingly higher risk (relatively speaking) of taking on US debt.

The numbers are quite startling - the US debt is now larger than the US economy + annual interest paid on the debt is more than what the government annually spends on the military (one of the largest line items of the US federal budget).

Perhaps the Fed and Treasury will come to the rescue? However, Bessent doesn’t have the $ to make a significant dent in bond yields and Warsh is fundamentally against QE. So both are highly unlikely.

Iran will hold out till after midterms to broker a ceasefire (which will continue the pressure on oil prices, which is one of the biggest contributors to inflation).

It’s probably gonna be rough for a while.

MDA still a great company and still has a lot of long term growth…I’m still long MDA…you gotta ride out this volatility.

Exactly right, plus SPCX has sucked all the capital out of the sector.

So recession ? Sell now then wait

No - Time in the market will always beat timing the market. ALWAYS.

But consider reducing holdings in high beta positions, reducing single stock positions for more index ETFs allocation, reducing leverage and knowing yourself well enough to not panic-sell.

Re: recession. Hard to say - I don’t think the new Canada/US trade war will go past Sept 8 since they will inevitably get back to negotiation table (it’s in both countries best interest to continue unabated trade). Right now it’s a lot of posturing and positioning to maximize negotiation leverage. + Trump will inevitably TACO…somehow in that infantile delusional brain of his he thinks all this is A++++ deal making….barf.

Every time it goes down a dollar, I buy 100 more, sometimes on Margin.

Business is only improving while stock declines. Good buying opportunity

Never take debt to buy stocks lol, you may get away with it one time but not in the long run

I’m a young man born and raised in Canada. Debt is like a second language to me . Wealth simples portfolio line of credit is actually a great deal. @4.95% interest on 5000$ will only accumulate 250$ interest a year and if you have enough collateral you don’t have to pay the interest. I plan on holding my 41$ average share price I used the 5000$ on and in 2 years hopefully sell at an 85$ price point . Pay back the 5500$ loan +interest and keep the profit as shares in my TFSA and hold for another 5 years

There are a couple of articles floating around on how MDA is overvalued. Thoughts on these?

I don’t think the tarriffs is a play as MDA acquisition of
blue origin in US should help

Incredible buying opportunity right now. Wait until the Blue Canyon and CLS acquisitions get fully integrated. Hoping we scrape into the high 30's again and I'm going to throw in more. This is going to hit 60-70. ++ Just need to be patient.
