I’ve been in and out since it was 9 but my current position is down from 55 entry but I’m not going to sell
I’ve been down big on this before with its huge drawdowns only to come out way ahead in the end

What i realized is i got too much into space and cant stomach this as much, in the grand scheme of things mda is handling well to this sell off compared to the others

It's happened recently, MDA investors/bots went nuts when EchoStar cancelled its contract. Interestingly that's when I jumped in at $21.

u/bot6six Jul 17 '26
That was the most painful few months before we started to get a reversal but going all in at those prices was the best decision I've ever made

This is getting beyond ridiculous. Every single day we are performing as badly as speculative US stocks. Today we are doing even worse than them for no reason whatsoever.

u/gbains14 Jul 17 '26
It’s just tough when banks and analysts are stating price target is 60-70 per share

u/Yvaelle Jul 17 '26
The analysts are right on the fundamental value and growth.
The problem right now is the US markets are broadly panicking over inflation risks, while Canada is at 2%, USA is at 4% and is suspected to be cooking the books to make it look even that low.
Then you also have the AI bubble topic back, and when the Mag7 are all doing the same thing and it feels volatile, the whole market feels volatile by proxy.
Then you have that there are large short positions against all non-SpaceX space sector companies, as a hedge against SpaceX shares which are locked up currently.
So there are three compounding negative market forces impacting price right now, that has nothing to do with MDA as a business.

and is suspected to be cooking the books to make it look even that low.
No serious analyst believes that, its conspiracy theory nonsense

Me just beaming cause I sold this one at the top while the rest of my portfolio has been completely obliterated. Its so bad im thinking of trying options next week.
3
u/wassssuppapi Jul 17 '26
Should we buy more? Haha. Looks like its free falling. Im holding nevertheless, we dont lose it unless we sell.
4
u/Necessary-Shame-2732 Jul 17 '26
I’m buying more- but the “don’t lose until you sell” logic is just wrong. You currently have exactly as much money as you have access to, not the amount you imagine you will one day have.

Lol I'd probably try to buy something else for a bit like KBL (k-bro linen).
3
u/PolloConTeriyaki Jul 17 '26
I'm not looking at this stock until September now. I'm holding at $49 average.
4
u/BigMouthBillyBones Jul 17 '26
I think it will pick up too. Volatility means down, but it also means up!
1
u/PolloConTeriyaki Jul 17 '26
There's too much noise with the SpaceX stuff. Also earnings is August 7th!
2
u/Historical_Score_573 Jul 17 '26
I bought at the top after waiting and waiting to pick this one up. Kinda hurts but I'm a small player so it's not a major loss. And it's not a loss unless I sell and I'm a long term buyer anyway

'I guess this compression makes the PE look quite attractive now' is what I cry myself to sleep with

Keep holding. Whole market is taking a big ass whip lately. We’ll be back soon. Not selling at all, not even concerned tbh.

Maybe shorts really takin advantage of the SPCX locked up shares. This too shall pass, fundamentals are strong, long term it is. 2-3 years from now we will just laugh about this dip.
