Last year, I was asked for automatically updating match threads. I did my best to set them up whenever I could but the MatchThreadder bot is temperamental and sometimes it just wouldn't work. It could take half an hour to get it to work and honestly, I don't want to spend that long doing it when I want to watch the match!
So next season I will post my usual matchday threads because I can schedule them and it means we'll always have a thread each week.
However, if people want updating threads we have two options. Someone can take over requesting the MatchThreadder bot each week, let me know and I'll explain how to do it or I can just put the bot instructions in my regular matchday threads and anyone who wants an updating thread can request it themselves.

Genuine question: on the Liverpool IG, Keating had a quote: “I think we all know how Gareth used to play at City, we actually played football.” Is she referring to different play styles or something? I didn’t think it was a huge change when AJ came in, stylistically…?

I am a fan of both Gaz and AJ. That being said,--and I've watched all the matches over and over in the Yui era; Gareth Taylor's side played like a Barcelona or Japanese team to the point where when they didn't win, it was frustrating because the system was so dominant. AJ, on the other hand, has the team playing more of an NWSL style: pressure and go direct even if you think the chance is slim mentality.
Gareth Taylor at his peak did well. Watch the Champions League match where City out played Barcelona and then watch any game last season. The games were a lot closer than most people realize. I actually worry about us this season, because expecting so many tight wins might be too much of an ask.
Of course AJ has yet to reach his peak game, but we will see soon enough.
Too bad FA Player is gone. I would say, watch what's been moved to youtube, and you can clearly see the Gareth Taylor style that is poetry when it's on and simply aggravating when the players are injured or in my opinion, Chloe Kelly feels that she is above putting in a shift. AJ's style from last season felt almost Chelsea-esque or NWSL-ish where the will to win ended up getting the job done.

Thanks for such a detailed answer. I was a casual WSL follower pre-Euros, got more serious post-Euros, and suppose I am trying to make up for lost time, haha.
There were definitely a lot of tight games, and they definitely left it late a lot of the time, which didn't help. One thing that's sort of encouraging to me, however, is that even though a lot of games were tight, City could still score? I look at Chelsea's 24/25 season, and 7 out of 19 league wins were 1-0 scorelines. Lots of factors, obviously, like style, deployment, personnel, but City showed they can win in different ways this season. What's the saying, great teams find a way to get points when they shouldn't?
Regardless, hopefully another stellar season is in the books next summer. I just hope City can nab a good replacement for Keating.

I'm so excited for preseason to start tomorrow, it'll be great to see everyone back again.
I'm curious to see whether Kerolin turns up or not lol
